Bodies house the soul, they do not imprison it.

In the ancient world, pagans taught that the physical universe was evil and had been created as a prank by a minor god. Our bodies, according to this belief system, are prisons for our souls. They believed that death freed the soul of its prison, and if the soul had been properly prepared, it would enjoy an eternal bodiless existence. Many modern Christians mistakenly think this is the Christian view, but historically it is not only heretical, it isn’t even Christian.

In Genesis, it says that God created the material universe and pronounced it good. Paul says in Romans 8:18-23 that the material universe is going to be transformed when we are transformed. In Genesis, God breathed the spirit of life into Adam to make him a living soul. Therefore, we are not really complete without our bodies. Our bodies are just as much “us” as our souls are. Since the New Heavens and the New Earth are a physical place (closely united with heaven), we need to be physical beings to go there. Hence the necessity for the Resurrection. When Jesus rose from the grave, He was really the first one to participate in the Resurrection on the Last Day; He did it early to show us that He can raise us up (I Corinthians 15:20 and following). The bodies we receive are continuous with the ones we have now, but they are transformed. They are what they were supposed to have been all along. (I Corinthians 15:35-38). As Job 19:26 says, in our bodies we shall see God.

Our bodies are "temples" of the Lord. Everything he created was good. As for the persistent Atheism in this site. You guys have tfhe most amazingly blind, unreasonable faith ever. You believe either in an infinite series or the movement of matter from non-existence to existence without any cause. You have NO empirical data that any matter has ever 1. Gone from non-existence to existence (See the Conservation of Matter and Energy Theory) and that something can occur without a cause. These two things are vastly more unreasonable than believing in a First Cause, outside of Time, who has historically revealed himself to human beings, look at Fatima (3000 witness saw the Sun come down towards Earth and dry the ground in a few minutes) or the scientifically tested impossible wounds of Padre Pio. Not only do you ignore divine revelation, but your believe 1+1 can be 3 because your creation story is, based on reason, impossible.

No, your souls are the imprisoning confines of what you as a physical object are capable of in terms of being obsessed with beliefs that dont have a strong basis or simply put dont make much sense if you ask the right questions.

It was hope that started it all. Hope to reunite with loved ones after they are physically disabled. Hope to finally have better standards of existence after suffering on such a harsh environment as the world. Though being hopeful is a righteous consequence of undergoing stress, even Martin Luther has said it all - The world is nothing but a valley of whining. As hyper reactive systems of vast interaction, humans naturally tend to find a meaning to all that surround them, beit disturbing or inspiring. Yet of what use is a definition, if what it defines is not even guaranteed to exist and/or serve them? That is what most people do not see because of the conspicuous cover of fear created by individuals dogmatically describing the truth as only what they choose to believe. No; it is what each individual needs to find for themselves no matter how encumbering the circumstances can get.

The soul that sinneth, it shall die! Ezekiel 18:4
1 Timothy 6:16
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

I believe that the soul is the mind and it's the body's software which only functions wile it's animate with the breath of life. Just like you need hardware and electricity for software to work. Then we die I believe our "software" remains dorman until God resurrects us and only he can because the breath orginiated from him and was passed down to us from Adam (the first man). Satan can maquerade as dead loved ones. When we resurrect, it will either be to eternal life or no life at all (your software is deleted from God's hard drive). Like when you're naughty on cyberspace, your account can be cancelled! Hell comes from heaven and restores the Earth. The evil doers become ashes below th saints' feet. all good atheists will get to trapple the hypocrites literally....sort of, they don't actually feel it, but they'll sure feel hell!

When you die, there is no sense of time. At resurrection you would think you just died a second ago.

Personally... I've got an escape plan made up... and it's fool-proof.

I'm goin' out to the donut shoppe tonight, see? n' I'm gunna get a whole bag of roundies, ("roundies" is what I call donuts, it’s sort of like a nick-name...) ( I call 'em hoops, too... but that's a little confusing for some people - they always start goin' off about basketball ...or earings... Go figure.! I mean, how goofy is that?)

... Anyhow, the plan works this way. I'm gunna buy a whole bag of roundies - like a dozen, ...eleven plain ones and one glazed and topped with coconut) ...and I’ll try to get one down in just one bite... like swallow it all in one gulp - like, all at once... ya get me?

Okay... the theory is this: that there's a possibility, if I can get the donut down whole, that I might be able to escape using the donut when I've got it inside me... Do ya see where I'm commin' from here? The whole.! (oh… I meant,"hole" ... that's the way to spell it for this meaning... it means like a void or a passage - n' that's what I'm after.)

So... it's on for tonight.! I'm doin' it at midnight because I have to be careful about other people seein' me disappear... n' I'm also thinkin' that if I can't get one of the plain donuts down in one gulp... like whole, (the other kind of whole,) ...like if, when I'm tryin' I wreck the hole by accident, (the other kind of hole,) ...well, that's what the coconut donut is for - at least I'll still have that to nibble on if I fail again… (I've been doin’ this every night for the past three years – at least, I'm getting’ closer each try... how about you? Got a plan?)

Wish me luck...bye

MMMM r u randy? MMMM

Its Not the body that is poison, its the thoughts that we have.

Judgment brings fearfull thoughts, these thoughts create feeling of anger and revenge.

These ideas are like poison for our souls.

Gnostics believe so. I don't share that belief - our bodies are not inherently evil. Our minds are, however & need the saving grace of God as granted through Jesus.
