I talked the lady at a neighborhood bakery into teaching me how one day. Took about 20 minutes. Just had to promise I wouldn't stop buying all my bread and doughnuts from there if she taught me her secrets.

It took me about 20 minutes to learn and 1/2 of the semester to get good enough to put them on cakes. It takes a lot of practice to get them right. You can do 1/2 roses in about 10 minutes

It just takes a lot of practice. I do mine on a stick and not the nail. It took me a while to get them both down. How long do you have to learn?

You would probably know how to do it right after someone shows you how, it would just take LOTS of practice to get good, they are hard!
