in general. we are not well disposed towards christians. Surely you can see there is much ignorance on both sides. Unfortunately it is hard to seperate an individual such as you or mean from the general view. Most people can't see the trees for the forest.

I don't hate you, I don't have any problem with Christianity at all. Well, except the intolerant people. Here's the thing, though.... there are a lot of chauvinistic, downright cruel religious people out there too. You think some guy giving you crap on the Internet is bad? Try having your family and classmates give you crap and try to convert you. Try saying the pledge of Allegiance "One nation, where God definitely does not exist, with liberty and justice for all." It's hard to be a tolerant person when so few people are show me the same courtesy, and I'm not going to let someone attack me remorselessly and hide behind a PC shield. I don't have a problem with religion, but if someone attacks my beliefs I will defend myself. I do wish we could all get along, though.

I appreciate spiritual people like you (I've read some of your other questions) who simply spur debate instead of pick fights. I hope you read my answers in the same way I read your questions, not as insults but as debate.

I became a vegetarian for personal reasons (mainly for animals and the environment), seven years ago. Never once in seven years have I commented on what someone else had on their plate, or made a fuss about what I put on mine. However, it was almost hurtful the way friends and family and foes alike all took my private decision as an affront. I never began the debate, but when asked my opinion, I joined in. Almost every meal I ate in public (and since I was in college for four of these years, that was most of the time) would spur a nasty comment, simply because I chose to eat vegetables. Most of the time it was just "teasing", but let me tell you that this got very old and tired after a while. Even people who were "nice" about it could not get over the fact that I didn't have meat on my plate. The fact that we generally ate at a buffet-style cafeteria, and I simply put things on my plate just like everyone else without saying a word made it even harder for me to understand why it was anyone's business.

What I'm saying is that even though I am not Christian, I understand why you get frustrated when people attack you for being Christian. A personal decision is no one else's business...unless you make it their business, they should get over it and move on.

I don't hate ya. I am also a Christian...don't think everyone hates Christians, but then again...many do. Can't classify everyone like that, though I know what you're getting at. And in regard to a statement that Christians "hate" homosexuals and others...that is completely COUNTER to Christianity. I don't hate people because of their lifestyle, I hate what they are doing....there is a BIG difference. I classify it as love the sinner, hate the sin. I don't hate someone because they lie to me, I hate the lie. Otherwise we are not Christians.

I don't know who you are directing this question to, but people have intolerance to many religions... you're right though, no need to lose any sleep, some people are just ignorant and cannot or will not tolerate anyone who disagrees with them....have a good one....

Look, I don't hate you, and though many people will tell me I deserve what I get, I'm Pagan and get a lot of stick for my beliefs - so what?! EVERYONE DOES! We argue with each other because we fear what we don't understand, or because we can't stand people disagreeing with us, but at some point we all get critisized.

So, you've just got to have thick skin and think, 'I have the right to believe what I want, and I don't care what you think!' Which, by the sounds of it, you've already learnt how to do!

Good on you hon! ;-)

Dont sweat it, we'll get slammed because of our faith. Its the fear for those mockers in what lies ahead for them at the time of their death, they hope old age is in their future and they will have time for "religion" later. They wanna be cool and sin is fun. They fail to realize that they dont control their own mortality and tomorrow is not a guarantee. Scary way to live. Once you're dead, its too late.

Sounds to me like you're the one doing the hating.
BTW, I hate people who force their religion on me. If you're one of them, then I hate you. If you're not... then what is your problem???

You've spent way too much time telling us that you don't care what we think.

Me thinks the lady doth protest too much

grow up
