No, it is not illegal at all. Make sure it is not part of some scam. Check out what all is involved with shipping a dog. i.e. quarantines, vaccines, costs. It could be very expensive. If it is a small breed dog, I would not ship them from another country. Too stressful on such a long trip and the puppy could die.Of course there is a chance that any pup could die from being shipped. Also you do not know if the dog is healthy. Even a vet's certificate of healthy could be done on another dog, and a sick dog could be sent.

absolutely NOT!! This is perfectly legal. However there are some shipping concerns when purchasing a dog from overseas...you will have to check with the airline as well as the US Dept of Agriculture regarding quarantines and the like.

No it is not, provided you work with Customs and let them impound the dog for 90 days. I had trouble finding the exact information on their website so you should contact a local pet store that features exotic pets, they import animals quite often, and should know the rules involved.

You can but there are a lot of regulations to go through to get them in the country. Very time consuming and in many cases the pet will have to be quarantined for a period of time before you can get him.

it is perfectly legal. the police get their german shepards for their K-9 Units straight from Germany and actually have to speak only German to the dogs too....
