One of my friends bought a bunch of different colored beans - red pinto, black eyed peas, lentils, etc. and put them in a large plastic container and gave her daughter spoons and cups to pour them and play with them, etc. I do this with my daughter, too. She'll be 3 in Oct. My daughter will play with the beans for an hour.or more. You can get them at the grocery store for under $1 for each bag of beans.
Do you have puzzles? My daughter loves puzzles.
By a pack of cheap latex balloons and blow them up and let your child play with them.
Blow bubbles.
Take a shoe box or other box and glue white paper to it and cut out some windows and doors and let your child color the "house".
Record each other on a tape recorder if you have one.
Glue shapes onto paper.
Put a "leash" on a stuffed animal and have her take it for a walk around your house.
Play hide and seek by hiding a stuffed animal (or other toy) and having her find it.
Make a drum out of something like a coffee can or oatmeal container.
Play the shell and pea game - take 3 cups and hide something (a cotton ball or coin or something) in one of the cups. Move the cups around and then have your daughter guess which cup has the item.
Make a fishing pole with a stick and some yarn. Put a magnet on the end of the yarn. Color some fish on cardboard and put a magnet on each fish (make sure the magnets are oriented so the one on the pole will attract the one on the fish). Go fishing!
Make sock puppets.
I hope these help. I have a 9 month old and a toddler so I know how crazy it can be.

If you are patient and can tolerate a bit of a mess, you can let the two year old have a picnic inside. We used to let our son get out pots and pans and plastic cups, etc and gave him some water so he could fill them up and pour and fill and spill. It entertained him for hours and just required us to clean up the water off the kitchen floor. Anything kitchen-related is a plus. Maybe while the newborn is napping you and the 2 year old could bake something together. They love to be involved with the measuring and pouring and mixing.

Do you have any indoor playgrounds where you live? These are usually air conditioned. You can sit with your baby while your older child plays. Some malls also have indoor play areas for kids.
How about a museum? My son loves the Natural History Museum.
Check online for things to do with kids.

Lay her down on the back of a roll of wrapping paper, trace her outline, tack it to a wall and let her color herself.
Go for a drive
Use flash cards to help build her vocabulary
Go to the park early in the a.m. before it gets hot so she can run around a little.

put the plug in the sink at let her stand on a chair and "wash dishes" or play in the water.. i do that all the time.. cover the floor with large paper and color all over... anything that includes making a mess.. I sometimes put shaving cream into like a large pan and let my daughter "finger paint" in it.. Just remember everything is washable..LOL

Print out some coloring pages from places like crayola.com and color! I know what you mean though, it is hard for me to entertain my daughter sometimes, she's almost three. You could watch a movie with her and turn it into a learning experience, like asking her the colors of things, how many of something she sees, etc.

if you can stand the noise give her some plastic dishes and pots and pans and let her "cook" on a table somewhere.. also, try getting her to name things around the house.. if she can .. have her identify things that are red,blue..etc..
put her in the bathtub with just a little cool water.. and sit there and splash with her, give her paper bags and crayons.. let her go nuts. just try to find out by really paying attention what she wants.. most toddlers start screaming and fussing when they are frustrated... she is trying to tell you something.

while i grow to be 4 I used to opt to be a cleanser. I used to love cleansing. Then, while i grow to be approximately 7 I used to get extremely scared while i grow to be in mattress at nighttime of issues alongside with werewolves and sharks lol. I used to tell myself I had to do something or something undesirable might ensue. I now have what i might planned to be severee OCD notwithstanding i do no longer think of it had something to do with the cleanser, it ought to be appropriate now which you come back to indicate it
