The quote is:
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.
Often attributed to Albert Camus
However, I have no way of knowing where you heard it.
God's peace to you!

I don't know where you heard it. At first, it seemed like a good saying but the more I think about it it's not that good. If you walk beside each other with no leader then nobody would go anywhere would we? We need leaders otherwise we're just standing still.

It's supposedly a quote from Albert Camus, the french existentialist philosopher. Very nice quote, by the way.

Sounds like something a milktoast fencesitter would say. So I'm betting it's a christian quote...

I thought it was an Irish proverb when I first read it but not sure. I've read it before, but can't remember who it was credited to.
