Im very nervous for the upcoming volleyball tryouts. I didn't do club volleyball but, i played last year on the freshmen team. Many of the girls don't want me there from my team, because they have their own group, and some of us girls, had our own, from the same team. well, the girls that i was with are not trying out, and now, i feel as if i don't belong, but i want to play. i need things to help me get as prepared as possible, because i finally found something that i love to do, and something that i actually enjoy working at, and will do anything to get better.please help me. i don't know how and what to do to get ready..i also don't know of any volleyball camps around Vancouver WA...so i don't know how and what to do to excell in this sport

Alright the secret to HIghschool Volleyball is being athletic, Supportive( Positive), and loud. Talking on the court is key, i understand u might be shy because of your friends but you'll get no where if you dont talk on the court. If someone screws up pat them on the shoulder and say get the next one and when they do something good make sure you let them know. I dont know what position you play but there are a few thing regardless that you should practice in order to stand out. You should run to be in decent shape. You wanna work on some leg excersizes. Besides that, get as many touches on the ball as you can b4 the season starts. Set at home, practice hitting the ball on a wall, everything with the ball is helpful.
Good luck!

Well, I thought that I didn't belong when I made the team last year either. But, try to get to know the girls and, who knows, you might make some new friends. And, I'm no expert. but, I usually practice REALLY hard a couple of days before tryouts so that I will know what I'm doing when the time comes. Just, get to tryouts and do the best you can. I'm sure you will do fine- can you get a hold of the girls you used to play with and asked them to help you practice? Good luck- i'm sure once you make the team the girls on the team will grow to respect you once they see that you take the game seriously.

Do it girl! Please! Don't let others make you feel bad. Do what you want to do... If you want to excel in this sport, devote yourself to it.. practice. And when other people see you out there playing your butt off, hopefully they'll see the hard work you've put into it and they will realize that your not only a good player, but a determine and great person.

you shoulda done the summer volleyball stuff, the club ball--sorry, that's really how to sew it up with the tryouts.
Do the best you can, and do it 150%, if you slack off the coaches wont pick you. Dive, sweat, dive and LISTEN to instructions, then KICK IT UP A NOTCH
good luck, been there done that and knocked OUT a varsity player, waaaah waaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

It sounds like you're nervous to play with people you don't know or aren't comfortable with.
Don't be. You said yourself that you love to play and would do ANYTHING to get better.. Try out, kick some butt! Get on that team and love every minute of it!
