He seems to have the heart of a warrior, so I believe with the excellent care he is receiving, he will pull through. Horses CAN survive laminitis--he won't be able to race again, but he certainly can live a long carrot-filled life.
I have my fingers xxd for him, and am saying the anti-laminitis prayer daily.

I think he will. He's shown tremendous heart and resilience so far. I know it will take several months before we know if his hoof will grow back without any problems, or any infection in his broken leg.
But he seems to "know" what's needed - he doesn't thrash around his stall, and he has learned to sit like a dog when he's in his sling (which is great cause it takes pressure off his front legs as well).
Let's hope he pulls through and we have mini Barbaros running around, and maybe one can match his ability.

no one knows that yet. There are simply too many things that can go wrong...and so many going right...to go one way or another. He's a tough horse, smart and takes care of himself. But if the laminitis moves to the front end...if it gets worse in back, if the foot doesn't grow out, etc etc it could make a huge strike against him.
