If we go then that would mean everything we evolved from would go to. I am holding out hope that this is not the case but it would certainly seem to be true.

Evolution is science. It doesn't really tell us anything about the supernatural.

If you evolve from monkeys into man and are constantly changing, it would mean there is no God so in effect there is no life after death. On the other hand, if evolution is just a theory as the creator of it said it was and is not the truth as so many proclaim now and there is a God that created the universe, you can know there is life after death and that those that believe in Him and do what He says can really have a good life in Heaven.

Not at all, Keep in mind evelution is a "theory". Theory's are hypothesis that evolve becuase overwhelming evidence has proven them to be correct.... OVERWHELMING evidence. Gravity is also a theory! Evolution isn't something that may have happened, it did and is happening. With that in mind, whether there is an afterlife or not has yet to reach the theory level. it's still a hypothesis becuase evidence has not been given to bring it up to the theory level. I believe that in due time, science will meet spirituality and all things will be brought into context. Time solves all riddles. I'm holding out that there is an afterlife and a God.

once death has occurred, there is no physical way for that particular life to continue.. that is the meaning of death. but that does not mean that your existance, once created, at conception, does not or cannot move from the physical state to a higher, more evolved state of consiousness - its just another form of evolution. Nothing in this universe ever really dies... it just transforms. We as humans see life as the end because we don't understand it.. and thus fear it. There is nothing to fear, as Life is a form of energy, and energy cannot be created or destroyed.. only transformed into another form.

No, evolution says nothing about the supernatural. Supernatural claims like life after death aren't subject to scientific, objective, empirical testing so science makes no claims one way or the other about them. The same is true of God. Evolution does not say there's no God. It doesn't say there is. Science can't test that idea, so science says nothing about it. So it's possible that evolution is simply the method God used to create us on our way to the afterlife. Accepting the voluminous evidence for evolution doesn't mean that you can't be religious and believe in God or the afterlife.

Right. If we have an immortal soul, so does a chimp, a dog, a mosquito, and a bacterium.

If every creature has an immortal soul, I can create a new immortal soul simply by dividing a star fish with a knife (since each half grows into a new starfish).

Pretty silly, eh?

Humans invented the idea of souls because they want to believe that death isnt really the end.

Evolution has nothing to do with life after death. Evolution is a factual function of the universe. Life after death is a concept designed only within the human brain the same way that all religions are. Religion is designed to alleviate us from the fact that " when you die , your dead".

Evolution is far from universally accepted.

You're right, though. If we DID evolve to our present state, then we are entirely an accident, and there is nothing more for us after death.

As an atheist I say there is no life after death, as a biologist I say the theory of evolution does not conflict with the god concept of the possibility of an afterlife

Depends on your definition of evolution. Evolution is just a process of change. Evolution can be seen in all creatures. They adapt to their enviroment and overcome and continue to thrive. Some people are just taking this natural process and claiming that it is the end all be all of existance. If you research the mathematics of it all creation is much easier to believe.

I don't see any logical arguement that says that evolution proves there is no life after death. If anything, evolution would sugguest reincarnation: as souls are continuously recycled, they are attached to increasingly complicated biological organisms. As the organisms are capable of possessing greater and greater sentience, the soul begins to display more and more of its "true potential"
