Do the start up twists and see if you like them enough to progress on to dreads.

I tend to think tight braids that are plastered to your head look bad on 99% of the girls with them. Intricate designs look nice. If you want dreads then keeping up with them can be a pain at first.
Do something that suits your style and face.

Locks are with you till you cut them out! Box braids look nice, with some funky colors in them.

You should micro braids b/c they last a long time and you can wear them in a lot of different styles

Hair Extensions? I've seen many women have extra, longer hair braided in with their own, shorter hair... They then have waist-length hair for a few weeks.

u should just get singles so u wont have to bother with your hair 4 2 to 3 monthes
