I think that it's a sign that he likes you.
As far as I know, the only time when a girl and boy hold hands is when they like each other. A guy and a girl that are friends, don't hold hands.
Maybe he is sending you signs that he likes you and hopes that you catch them so that if you like him back to respond by sending signs back to him. If you like him, send him those signs.

He is very lovely to hold your hand. You can maybe not imagine what good feeling it is to hold somebodys hand. I like to sleep with my partner at night and hold the hand. It gives me a lot of energy.
Love is something totaly beautiful, and when he hold your hand then you are safe with him.

When a boy holds your hand it shows that he's feeling you but he's stil just trying to take things slow to get to know you a little but better before he asks you out so just take it easy and keep doing what your doing just don't rush into anything.

He likes you. Men are pretty simple, we don't have really complex feelings and emotions. If you like him than you can show that, but if you give him a hug or a kiss then that will signal that you want a relationship that is more than just friends. If he doesn't want that, then he will probably make that clear, like I said men are pretty simple creatures. Women are the complex ones, they are the ones that need a relationship and are hard for guys to figure out.

Yes. I am a guy and talking from experience. That's the way some guys express their love to ladies but you have to calm yourself and watch him very well.

Sounds like you are young. And taking that into consideration then yes he likes you, or else he would be to shy any other reason.
