First off, Congrats! I'm in the same boat you are. I just quit 4 days ago, and it hasn't been easy, but you have to learn to distract yourself at the most common smoking activity times...after eating, getting up in the morning....ect...You can do it. You have already passed the hardest obstacle you could face, just by deciding to quit and following through with it. Also, there are some quit assist websites that have info on how to manage nicotine-free stress. Check out the website below. It has all sorts of resources for us, like websites, quitlines, and all sorts of stuff that might help. Good luck and best wishes.

You need to rid your house, car, everything of smoke, ashtrays, lighters, etc. When you go to bed tonight scrub your teeth like you have never done before so when you wake up in the AM, it isn't the first thing you think of. You will also need to break the habits or stop visiting places that you normally smoke at. This will become easier over time but for now, all of the actions that went hand in hand with your smoking need to be stopped in order for this to be successful. It is going to be horrible the first couple of days and if you haven't already done so, I WOULD NOT tell co-workers, friends, family that you are trying to quit because A) They will want to talk about it constantly which will make you crave them again and B) if it doesn't work out, they will always have something to say about that too.
Good Luck and remember that the worst part is the first three days, after that- the nicotine is out of your system for good.

OMG, yesterday was my last day smoking. I have been smoking for 18 years, and have quit 4 times before. Twice for both my pregnancies, once with the prescription pill, and lastly, cold turkey. None of the times stuck, I always went back.
This morning when I got up, I put on a patch, and so far so good. It has only been 5 hours, but I'm doing great. It called Nicoderm CQ, and comparing it to other times I've quit, so far its the best!
If you are serious about quitting, maybe we can help each other...feel free to e-mail, and don't be nervous, with a little support, we can do anything!!!

Chew sunflower seeds or eat them in salad or trail mix... they make your body not need nicotine (they help rid your body of it). Eat a lot of them. Don't hang around smokers. Don't go where you used to smoke (like outside at work or whatever). "Smoke" carrot sticks instead, or straws, or stick pens. (Like a kid would pretending to smoke.) If you used to smoke menthol start sucking on menthol cough drops. Drink plenty of water because it helps flush the toxins out of your body. Think about all the good you're doing. Make a reward chart for yourself and go somewhere nice or do something good for yourself. Get your teeth whitened by a pro, and you'll be so impressed you won't want to mess it up. Flush all your smokes, break all your ashtrays, throw all your lighters away somewhere far from home. Get your car detailed inside and get a smelly-good air freshener.
I believe in you! I quit a month ago cold turkey because I found out I'm pregnant and that was really good motivation... find your motivation and use it. You can do it!

Good for you for deciding to take this first step!
It will be a challenge. I am not a smoker. My mother died in February from lung cancer related to smoking so I know first hand how smoking affects the smoker and family.
Your local hospital may have some 'Stop Smoking' programs that you can attend. Usually they are free.
I hope you have the support of your family and friends.
You are giving yourself a wonderful gift- many more years of life-- free from tobacco.
Good Luck.

The e book of revelations describes the tip of days. A fake prophet will look and lie to human beings. there'll be many organic disaster, famine, and wars. he will make peace with Israel yet will break this peace after 3 and a a million/2 years. he will assemble a defense force to break Israel yet Jesus will return and defeat him and could Reign on the Throne of David for 1000 years. those 1000 years would be non violent. yet devil isn't thoroughly defeated immediately. human beings will nonetheless be having toddlers immediately yet they have the luxurious of no longer having to handle sin. devil would be released after 1000 years to lie to human beings back and Jesus will defeat him for the proper time. everybody who's deceived at this element in time heavily isn't forgiven with the aid of fact they have seen the goodness of God in the time of those 1000 years and he won't placed up with disloyalty. Then Judgment day will ensue and Jesus will choose everybody who has ever lived.

I agree with Shiloh, my fiancee quit smoking, and he was chewing a lot of gums and been eating lots of snacks (candies), he gained some weight, but he stopped smoking he smells much better and we spend more time together, I'm allergic to it so he has to smoke outside our place and stay away from me for awhile b4 we can be together. Also for awhile he stayed away from friends that smoke to avoid temptation, and since they were his real friends they respected his decisions, now they hang out again....

Try eating carrots. Carrots contain carrotene which is also a little bit addictive, however, it is better to be addicted to carrots than cigars.

It will be really hard. Replace cigaretts for chewing gum instead, or twizzlers. Just don't think about it at all!
