The world still has plenty of space in it. We wouldn't be over populated at all if folks didn't think they all had to crowd in together. Look at large portions of Asia, Russia - or the Central United States, for that matter. There is plenty of land that isn't being used for cattle or wheat or anything else.
"THEY" don't need to be 'de-populating' anything.

I like this Avian Flu that the CIA has cooked up.
For years I was pro neutron bomb. But now see the light on how decayed bodies are better fertilizer than autoclaved bodies.

I don't know who you think 'they' are, but you sound a wee bit paranoid.
And no, being gay isn't it either.
That being said, I believe that all of the natural (and un-natural) disasters are how the earth is keeping itself in balance. When I hear about another earthquake that killed 100,000 people, or a tsunami or hurricane that killed thousands it makes me very sad. Those are terrible tragedies for an untold number of people. But it always makes me think the planet is just a little less close to total overpopulation.
