Yes I would sacrifice myself , why . Well I don't really know , I'd get no thanks for it , it would soon be forgotten , peace would last for approximately 4 minutes . Then in good old human tradition some guy would spill someones pint and it would all kick off again . Why would I do it , I suppose the 4 minutes peace would be nice , but then again I wouldn't benefit from it cuase I'll be dead so sod it , changed my mind , let the wars and battles continue , I'll hide in the hedge and come out when the shooting stops after some silly bugger has sacrificed his / herself .

Being able to stop all wars on this earth, I would say, is a virtual impossibility. As far as we know, there has never been a time in the history of the earth, when some armed conflict between nations or other groups has not been taking place. However liberal or peace-loving we may believe we are, human nature appears to have been devised to encompass feelings of dislike or aggression against others, and some individuals are unable to keep these feelings under control. This is all part of the cosmic balance, the law of opposites. We recognise 'black & white', 'right & wrong', 'left & right', 'up & down', 'male & female' and of course 'war & peace'. Each pair of opposites are inter-dependent, i.e. one could not exist without the other. All this appears to me as part of a cosmic balance, it's what holds the Universe together. Try to imagine a world where all aggresive urges are stifled; total and ultimate peace would probably drive us all mad. What would there be to strive for? All passion gone, half of our brains unused, The best you should strive for is to keep wars to a minimum and let the cosmic balace assert itself.
To answer your question therefore I would certainly say, no; because I believe that some war is better than the horrifying image of 'no war at all'.

No I wouldn't do it. It would be a wasted sacrifice. Humans will always fight. It's in our nature. Even if you could stop the current wars, other will be sure to form. Yet, on the other hand, if one lossed life could save thoughs of hundreds of thousands.............

Interesting question.

Yes, the caveat being not only stopping wars, but having REAL peace. If it was just to stop wars, then no. They would start again.
