It comes out automatic without us realising it. many a time we do rush up with our answers and end up in embarrassing positions. It is humab tendency only. If one thinks for a sec before saying 'yes' or 'no' as the case may be, there will be no embarrassing positions. Often we forget that there is a ',' comma or a parenthesis as in written English. This cud be another reason why do we say YES when we really mean NO, for example'Yes I mean, no, i did not go there yesterday' may sound somethin like 'Yes i mean no, i did not go there yesterday' if we do not pause for a sec befor blurting out our answers in YES or NO.

I have to say that sometimes I do it when I am in the mood for some fun and YET I know that when that time rolls around on the calendar later, I'll change my mind and don't want to go out.
But usually, I am just "too nice" and that can be a bit rude when you RSVP yes for doing one thing and are ambivalent or not going to do it.

If people force you into an answer you do no agree with they are abusing you. Weakness and fear of displeasing others! Make sure you damn well say what you want next time, don't be pressurised let your yes be yes and your no mean no!

Too many reasons to list, but sometimes we really don't want to do what we know we should, if that makes any sense at all.

You don't want to disappoint people. Same as saying maybe and meaning no.

Because we are scared to say what we really think and just want to tell the person what we think they want to hear.
