i just got my new baby,,i live in USA,,,i need to travel urgently to my country (egypt),what do i need to make a passport for the new baby? they said the social security number take 24weeks to be done,,,this is almost a year!!!!!! should i wait for it to travel with my baby? i cant wait a year !!!

Was the baby born in the U.S.? Normally a social security card is issued automatically and you should have received something before you left the hospital. You will not be able to get a passport without it for your baby and you will certainly not be allowed to take him out of the country without it. Call the hospital where he was born first and ask them if the card was issued. If not, call the SSA and ask them how to expedite the card. It will be a few months at the very least to get both the card and the passport. Good luck!

If its urgent, contact agencies that, for a price, help expidite passports. Babys need the ss numr to claim them as a tax deduction and that why folks get them. Actually, go to a good travel agent to book the trip and thell get you all the info
