Large breeds are prone to hip dyspepsia, small breeds are prone to a condition called luxating knee caps...meaning the knee cap is popping in and out of place...this WILL become very painful later in years if not taken care of. Found this website: http://www.labradornet.com/luxpatel.html
Have him vet cked to see if this is what it is.
Good Luck with your puppy!

It sounds like he has what is called Luxating Patellas or knee caps that pop in and out .I would have the vet examine this a Daxies are known to have spine issues and do not need leg issues on top of it.

This is not normal and will require xrays to be sure that he does not have serious joint issues that my keep him from walking in the future. Take him to a vet and get his knees and hips Xrayed. It is important for the dog. It may cause pain!!

i have a dachshund also and i dont think thats normal. My dog'slegs dont do that. If u r really concern, take him to the vet. It might be serious then again it might be because of his age.

You should really ask a Veterinarian, they would be able to give you a much better analysis of the dogs problem then someone here on Yahoo answers

This is something they ask you at a vet check up so I would call your vet and let them know. I do believe that they are a breed known for hip displacia.

I agree possible Luxating Patella. Small dogs don't generally get hip displasia.

Have the vet check it out. Even if the breed is not prone to dysplasia, it's possible or it may have another problem.
