I own 3 dogs and a cat. the only male dog that i have is very agressive towards a dog that i want.

This dog is a dog that we found when we moved into our new house last yr. we kept it through hurricane katrina found its owners and retured it. its owners didn't take care of it then had to move and couldn't take him. They gave it to the people that they live with in a small trailer park just 4 days ago. Since then our next door neighboor is the one that has been feeding him because the people at the trailer park wouldn't take care of him. He broke his chain and came to our house where he knows he will get food and attention.. We want to keep him but my male dog wants nothing but to attack him.... I have tred some basic techniques but they haven't worked..... He will kill this dog if he gets the chance....

Please help me!

Other than extensive training for behavioral modification, I don't see much hope.. If you would like to quickly re-train your male, email me, and i will give you the '3 day wonder' plan..
Otherwise, you might keep on indoors and one out? One in front yard, one in back? Keep the new one in a kennel(with lots of attention) until your male accepts him? All possibilities, but still a problem unless you take over the dominant/leader role with your male.

What is the age difference between the two? If it is significant then it may simply be rivalry between two males. Also does the rescue dog return that aggression? If yes I'd say get rid of him because one will kill the other. If he doesn't return the aggression you must put an end to the ones agressive behavior in order to keep both. Finally, if you are not comfortable disciplining your dog or dogs, you could always hire a trainer. Hope this helps

WOW plenty of questions! I'll take on the primary one. And it could aid to understand how historical he's.:) one million -You would have got to get him checked via the vet. If he has a urinary tract illness then he may not be ready to aid it and all teh coaching and ideas on the planet may not difference a factor. two -Lose the pee pads. This is a certain fireplace solution to CONFUSE your puppy considering that what they gain knowledge of is that it's alright to pee within. They don't udnerstand that there's anything magical approximately the pee pads that makes it good enough. three - Take him outside usually so he has the risk to pee external. When he does, compliment him in a completely satisfied voice and might be even deliver him a deal with. If you'll take the paper / throw rug / anything that he peed on within the apartment and positioned it wherein you wish him to move external with a purpose to cross some distance in educating him to move outside. four - Do now not go away him unsupervised within the apartment. Keep an eye fixed on him normally and in the event you see him sniffing like he's approximately to "cross" get him external. Play with him slightly too, or else he'll get the thought that he's being punished for peeing and / or peeing external and that it the final factor you wish. five - Never ever scold him for peeing interior. If you do all with a purpose to occur is he'll determine it is a dangerous thought so that you can see him peeing after which he may not pee outside while you cross on walks. He'll additionally get well at being sneaky approximately peeing interior so he can restrict the punishment. 6 - Be sufferer. Now that he has the dangerous addiction, replacing it may not occur in a single day. Dogs do not instantly "get it" after which act excellent. Instead what is going to occur is that there will probably be fewer and less injuries and he will get it proper increasingly usually till ultimately he will be housebroken. It might take approximately 2 months. Be sufferer and regular and well success!

You should get your male dog and the new dog (if both males) nuetered if they are not already. Introduce them slow and give them equal attention. Keep them in the same yard but pinned differently or on different chains. Scold your dog when he shows aggression towards the new dog. Let him know this is wrong. I hope you the best of luck.

chances are that your male dog will not accept this new dog if he is male that is your dogs home the other dog is an intruder. the only thing is to keep them apart and introduce them little by little if that does not work keep them separate if you can not do that get the other dog a new home that you know he/she will be well taken care of and loved good luck

You have a case of same sex aggression.
It is very common and you may not be able to keep both ofthese dogs. If you do you will have to seperate them.
Getting them both neutered may help but not always.
Many breeds are dominant and some will not tolerate another dog of the same sex living with them ever.
It sounld like you need to place one of them in a new home hopefully for his sake a good one.
Sounds like he has been through alot of stuff in his life and you are good to care for him but see if you can find him a home of his own.
Good luck.

Buy a mussel for the dog. So he can't bite anything. Look, you need to think about this. What dog do you want and make some decisions. Look it can be tough to get rid of a dog, I know i have 2, but if it is going to cause the death of your favorite dog, get rid of him.

Ask your vet to recommend a "behaviorist" to work with both the dogs. This can be overcome if your willing to go the distance.
