I currently am trying Garnier Fructis and it is wonderful; it keeps my curls intact, but my hair isn't the softest it can be. I have also tried Dove in the pink bottle(color/ damaged hair) it makes my hair softer than a baby's bottom. I think I'm going back to Dove. I also want to try some other products(aveda, paul mitchell, salon products only). I think you need to eliminate by trail and error and see what works best for your hair, but you should use only the best products.

Wash with a clarifying shampoo (Suave's is actually excellent) and then once a week use a deep conditioner (both Dove and Pantene are excellent). Also use a conditioner the rest of the week for dry/damaged hair. The very best is Redken Extreme, but if there's not a salon in the area selling it, try Pantene.

I would look for deep conditioners. I got mine (they come in smaller packets) from Sally's Beauty Supply, Beyond Belief/Beyond the Zone. Fructis's deep conditioning mask is also good. Suave 3minute miracle is good. If you go to:

and sign up (it's free), you can do a lot of research about different brands. Products are rated by tons of real people, and you can search for deep conditioners/treatments. You might also consider "henna-ing", your hair.

www.hennaforhair.com

There's a type of "henna" that adds strength to your hair without actually coloring it (or you might also be able to switch to henna for color, which is much less damaging to your hair). I've tried it and had great luck.

Use leave-in conditioning sprays, and avoid blow-drying your hair if at all possible, or use heat-protecting sprays, to minimize styling damage. Good luck :)

It sounds really gross but Mayo works great. Apply it on your hair ,wrap it in plastic wrap for an hour and then shampoo it out. My hair comes to my waist and I have to color it to cover gray. This is the best natural conditioner I've ever used. I tried all the expensive products. None of them worked as well as this. Good Luck

I love the conditioners that come with the hair color because the texture is thick unlike some of the runny conditioners. L'oreal.
