My daughter is allergic to cow's milk but she still needs her daily intake of milk so I give her soy milk instead. There are a lot of alternatives to just cow's milk, there's rice milk, soy milk, and goat's milk. Try each one and see what your baby will like.

yes, under 12 months you should not give cow's milk.
If you are trying to wean your child off of formula this is how you do it.
start with 7 ounces of formula and 1 ounce of cow's milk for 3 days. Then 6 ounces of formula and 2 ounces of cow's milk for the next 3 days. After 4 ounces of formula and 4 ounces of cow's. (half ratio) for 3 days. Then 2 ounces of formula and 6 of cow's for another 3 days. Your 1 year old child will then be used to cow's milk taste.
If during these trials your child vomits, your child could have a lactose intolerance or is under 12 months and can not break down the proteins in the cow's milk and thus if you keep pushing your child, and he keeps vomitting, his esophogus will burn away and render the child dead.

Does he dislike it or does he have an allergy? If he has an allergy, try SILK (soy milk) if your baby is at least 1 year old. If he's under 1, go with a non-dairy formula. If he simply doesn't like the taste of the milk, try adding a little chocolate syrup to it (just a tad) & see if he likes that. It worked for my 2-year-old daughter. She loves milk now (chocolate milk). :)

Don't feed your baby cow's milk. Cow's milk is for calves. Cow's milk can make you sick and possibly kill you, or at least shorten your life. It is definitely not good for humans. It can cause a lot of health problems. I think it should be against the law to sell milk for human consumption. If you will click on the link below and read "Marketing Milk and Disease" by John McDougall, MD", or any of the other links you will probably never drink milk again.

If under 12 months, don't give cow's milk. Are you saying they are allergic? Try soy, almond or rice milk. Lactose intolarance? Use Lactaid or Dairy Ease milk. Doesn't like it? Don't push and try the alternatives and have eat cheese, etc for calcium & vitamin D.

Adverse to it, how is it harmful to him? I did breast and formula for my three kids. I switched to cow's milk at 18 months for all three the one on formula got 75% formula then 50/50 then 25/50 then 100% cow. Pretty much same method only guessed with the breast.

If he just doesn't like it: at first try mixing his bottles half cow's milk, half formula. Or try a flavored syrup (chocolate, strawberry, berry).
It may be that it's making his tummy hurt as well. Try soy milk. Or better yet, talk to his pediatrician.

If he is not actually allergic to cow's milk, you can try flavoring it with chocolate or strawberry syrup (just a little). My toddler refuses to drink plain milk, but gulps up glasses of chocolate-flavored milk. If he is allergic, try soy milk, which tends to digest easier.

My one year old enjoy's Rice Milk. It is not soy based, but is digested easily, has all the calium the kids need, and tastes good. You will find it in the non-dairy healthy section of your local super-market. It's called "Rice Dream- Vanilla enriched". I think cow's milk is to harsh on their small tummies anyway. I wouldn't worry at all either if he is eating cheese, yogert, and such.
