Definitely. In the future you will also be able to test to see whether you child will have any potential diseases and you will be able to change the strands of DNA that might cause those diseases with a "healthy strand". For example if the tests show that your child will be diabetic then you will be able to fix the problem. Also you will be able to choose the eye color and hair color, in fact you will be able to fix everything. BUT you have to understand that these advances might not be able to be used and only be left as a medical advancement showcase.
There are many debates to the question if we are allowed to tamper with nature and God etc, the Bioethics behind DNA changing go very deep and in multiple levels. As far as i know the current situation is that these advancements will be availiable sometime in the future but it will take a whole lot longer to decide whether or not they will be availiable to be used on humans.

You never know, but I wouldn't be surprised if they can change your sex in the future. Nowadays they're cloning mules, inserting dog sperm in women, face transplant. I hope one day they'll be able to change dna, so people can have powers! That sounds unlikely, but pretty freakin' cool. Did'ja know that soon they're gonna have mechanisms like Doc Ock's arms in spider-man 2? I know I'm gonna have me a pair of those someday...

Not past like... two or three cell replications into the conception. Why bother, anyway? It'd be easier to just fertilize a bunch of eggs and pick one that's the sex you want, which I believe they're already doing.

Before the child has been born, I take it?

Yes it's possible by implanting gametes containing Y chromosomes into an egg cell, but like someone already said the morals behind it are very debateable.
