http://www.paw-rescue.org/PAW/PETTIPS/DogTip_FoodAndKitchenSafety.phpThis This site says >If a dog gets the runs, treat with canned pumpkin, mashed potatoes or plain vanilla yogurt. Continue feeding him as much as he will eat to replenish needed nutrients. Rice, or rice with some lean hamburger, is another good choice. Add some yogurt to it if possible, since yogurt helps calm upset stomachs. Canned pumpkin is especially helpful if the dog's stools are loose.
Another site says parsely chopped up in his food is good for indigestion.

It's pretty hard to determine on your own WHY a dog has an upset stomach. If he just vomits yellow bile once or twice because his stomach is empty, you can give him a biscuit in between the two meals a day he should be getting.
Labs are prone to bloat - a condition that is quickly FATAL if not treated immediately. It can happen when he gets excited on a stomach too full of food or water.

He could have eaten something toxic, like rat poison or anti-freeze. In that case, you don't have much time to get treatment before the dog dies.
If there is diarrhea and vomiting, he could be seriously ill with a virus, especially if there is any blood in either.

Is there diarrhea or vomiting? If so, he probably does need to see the vet.
If he's outside and has an upset stomach, you'll probably notice him eating grass. This is his own way of easing his stomach. Vets do say it is okay to give a dog Pepto, but I would call to check the right dosage. Good luck! :)

If you cannot ease him at home with your vast medical knowledge guess what he needs medical attention.because nausea has many causes-anything from pancreatitis, kidney issues, poisoning, ate something that has caused an obstruction of his bowels to bloat. You can try withholding food for 24 hours(giving water only) and then slowly feeding small frequent meals of his regular diet but if he is throwing up water as well or the vomit is green this is an emergency. Why do you not call you vet for advice-they don't charge for that.

You do not feed him for 24 hours and give the digestive tract a chance to rest. Then start small meals frequently the next day. If that does not do it, the dog needs to be seen by a vet!!!

Pepto Bismol is safe for dogs but I would call the vet to get the proper dosing information.

Boil chicken and rice and substitute instead of dog food for two days. No improvement-see a Vet!

Boiled poultry and rice. Make sure he has a lot of water if he's got runny stool or is throwing up. If you live in an area where it's really hot, he might be having a problem with dehydration.

You might want to bring him to the vet. Upset stomachs can turn into horrible viruses. He might have an ulcer and need immediate attention

I always feed my dogs homemade chicken soup when they are sick. It encourages them to get enough fluids. Walking is good for upset stomachs, it helps get the gut moving properly.
