Mary gets all the attention, but Joseph was there too. Could someone explain what happened with Mary & Joseph? When and how did they die in relation to Christ? Were there other siblings? And how is Joseph viewed by religions today?

I've always thought it would have been nice to know a bit more about Joseph. He had a heavy duty responsibility.
It does seem like they did have other kids:
Mat 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Mat 13:56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this [man] all these things?
It looks as if Joseph must have died shortly before Jesus began His ministry. I've often wondered about that, too.
Most denominations I know of sort of put Joseph off to the side-lines. I guess being a pregnant virgin is sort of more awesome than being married to a pregnant virgin, and being the Son of God much more awesome than being the step-father of the Son of God...but still, let's hear a bit of applause for good old Joseph!

Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt when Herod announced that he was going to kill all the male children under two years of age. They returned to Nazareth when Herod died.I don't know if anyone knows when they died.
As a side note... Jesus studied in the great Library of Alexandria until he went back home at the age of about 12. This was one reason he was so intelligent.
Mary is more revered than Joseph because she gave virgin birth. She was part of a direct miracle from God.

Joseph died before Jesus started His ministry (that's what most theologians think because there is not any mention of his name after a Jesus was twelve and Jesus asked John to take care of Mary. If Joseph was alive then He wouldn't have had to.) As for siblings, Jesus had them, but I don't know how many. The Bible says that He had "brothers and sisters" and since they weren't for Him when he was alive, that shows that they were not his spiritual brothers and sisters. Also, history shows that it would have been foolish to only have one child in the day and age that Mary and Joseph lived in (most children died at young ages and they needed someone to take care of them when they got older). Mary went without dying longer than Joseph and Jesus. While on the cross Jesus told one of His closest friends, John (not the baptist) to take care of her, and the Bible says that he did.
The books of Jude and James were written by two of Jesus's brothers who converted later on.

My parents gave me this beautiful painting of the nativity scene, only Mary is sleeping, and Joseph is cradling the baby Jesus. Many mother's who see the painting comment that it's pretty accurate for the after-birth-scenario. Joseph deserves a lot of respect for being a good earthly father, and being the kind of guy that could receive and follow the dream that saved the baby Jesus from king Herod's order.

Joseph died presumably when Jesus was somewhere between the ages of about 13 to 32.
Mary died after Jesus.
We know he had brothers named James,Jude, Simon and Joses from Mathew 13:15 and Mark 6:3 and Josephus' Jewish Antiquities.
I do not know how many sisters he had.

Thanks for this question. I need to study my Bible more and this is a question that is interesting enough to study. We know that Jesus had brothers and sisters. I don't remember all their names but the bible mentions John, the brother of Christ, who was not John the Baptist. Joseph being a carpenter had to travel to where there was work and that is about all I know. Thanks again. I have a Strong's Exhaustive concordance which has every word in the Bible and the scripture where that word is located in the Bible. I am sure I will find the answer.

you may desire to keep in mind that whether there tale is genuine and that's fairly uncertain this is been translated better than as quickly as and errors creep in. working example the be conscious for virgin can be used to signify a youthful female. the be conscious for wood worker ought to talk with a builder so he ought to have been a stone mason or brick layer. An hotel in those days became one room which contained the animals as nicely through fact the individuals however the individuals slept on a platform above the animals and the be conscious for that platform became an identical through fact the be conscious for the comprehensive development. A roman census became approximately elevating taxes so why could you're taking a guy from his place of artwork the place the money became earned to the place he became born for the census it is not clever in any respect.

I dont believe we have any clear information about what happened to Mary and Joseph after Jesus' death but Jesus did entrust Mary, his mother, into the care of one of the Disciples, John.

When you really think about it, neither one of Jesus' parents received much attention outside of the story of Jesus' birth. Mary and Joseph had children (despite what the Catholic church teaches, they did), lived, and died just like everybody else.
