I don't talk with spirits but I do see them. Whenever I do speak to a deceased one, they are in my dreams. How does it work you asked. Is your mind open? Not just having an open mind but that you are open to spirits and the other realms. If a spirit allows themselves to show themselves to you, then it is time; if not, then don't worry, your time will come.
