i wouldn't have a piece of trouble surviving. first item would be shelter & locating potable drinking water. I'd avoid the bears etc, saving 40 shots for emergencies only. would use the rod for fish to eat, fish can also be smoked or dried over fire since there's no fridge. Have to rig something to keep animals from getting stores. Look for berries, fruits to eat. Gotta keep vitamin c so you don't get scurvy. Not seeing people is no biggy for me - just go inside my head & live there. Rig out snares for small game. No specified time given - I could probably make it a month, maybe 3 at the most. Harder to do in harsh winter conditions; would have to have more winter specific gear!

I grew up in the woods. I now live in a medium sized city and HATE IT!!!! My wife and I plan on saving some money and "heading for the hills". I would use the items you listed while I make and test my own fishing rod and tackle so when it does run out or break I wont be with out. The gun and 40 rounds will last about 3-4 weeks (with well placed shots) but I would start working on a bow immediately. The most useful of all the items would be the hatchet. One thing I would have is a good knife as I never go out of the house without one so I know I would have it with me also. As for the animals. If you keep your food up and stay out of their way you would only need contact with them when you hunt them. I not only could live in this situation, I would prosper.

I would attatch the tackle to my clothes, tie my self up with the fishing rod line with the rifle to my head and pull the trigger and wait for the animals to devour my body.
Or I would sit with my back to the tree waiting for any predators only move to fish and I would sleep in a tree.

part of that is ez 4 me now...i'm a loner and have only 4 friends n this world.
hell i'm willing to try. people killin people, cant b no worst been out in the wild.
i wouldnt do crap besides eat and sleep and b naked 95% of the time.
