My daughter is only 15, went to get up out of bed, and she thought it was a charlie horse, but the pain and tightness did not go away, and its been three hours and she can not relax the leg muscle. Why did this happen? And how to get it to relax? is this a serious condition? She can barely walk on it.

Could be a pulled muscle, strain or sprain. Tell her to try to tense and relax the opposite muscle. ie. if the tense one is in the front of her leg have her try to tense and relax the back one. See if that helps it. You can also try ice. Follow the R.I.C.E. Rule rest ice compression and elevation.
If this doesnt work you can try calling your local hospital and ask
weather they have an advice or nurse line. Talk to them they can help you and tell you if you need to visit the Dr or ER.

Id schedule her a Dr. apt if the pain doesnt go away in a couple days anyway this could be something serious.
Hope she feels better soon.
