I've seen a lot of people who don't like illegal immigrants, but it seems that they attack mexicans wether they are legal or illgal, it's true, ive seen it here on Y! A!. What i dont get is why they hate them so much, i met a few mexican guys and girls here in myrtle beach, and they don't seem at all how people here describe them. They're not on welfare, commiting crime, stealing, and one has an american flag tattoo, so i don't see why people who hate illegals also hate mexicans wether legal or illegal, the ones I met seem very american and not at all how people here have been describing them.

people are very narrow-minded, if only the rest of the world had your mentality, the US would be stronger.

Racism is not a pretty thing , however, almost everyone at one point or another has a racist thought. Now I am by no means trying to justify racism with that comment. People are always going to fear what they do not know. And fear leads to hatred. Its quite simple really. Legal vs. Illegal immigrants really has no place in the debate of the racism of others. People like to use it as a crutch because they are too ashamed to admit that what they say/do is racist. I've worked with many Mexicans, some illegal some legal, and just like any other group of people on the face of this earth, some are good, some are bad. Many of them have come here to do just what most of our ancestors did, looking for jobs and money and a better life for their family. One of the problems is the lack of assimilation that many Mexicans exhibit. It seems they don't want to become Americans. Which seems to me that they are kind of using this great country to get money and move home. Now all that is fine and dandy, I suppose, I would just like to see it done legally with work visas and the like. None of this really has anything to do with racism though. However, reading the responses on here already, some people need to realize that racism is a way of thinking, it cannot nor should it be legislated by the government. Also, if you want to see some poor treatment of immigrants and aliens, look at what the Mexicans do to their neighbors on the south when they try to enter Mexico. It is a lot worse then it is here. Again, not justifying it, just pointing out facts.

What I see as racist on the part of the Illegals is that they have had their spokes people say "Whites get out! This is are land!" Of course the proper spelling is OUR land, but I wouldn't discount thier message becuase of a misspelling. They have come to our country illegally and are marching in the streets under a foriegn flag. They threatened to poison our food supply. What's more they have done this during time of war. They despise white people. But on the other hand I say that since they are claiming the Southwest as Mexico why not give it to them? The Southwest is already almost totally mexican anyhow. Under these conditions however, we would leave that area as it was when it was Mexico. A desert. No freebees. Nothing that was made by Americans. We'll just negotiate the border and give them what they want. Then we could secure our new border after the deal had been agreed to.
AS far as the term racist, I sure see it as a word designed to make people abandon thier opinions. It is a word used to make soemone run for cover in fear that they be labeled something. The whole use of that word is losing the effectiveness it once had.

You're right little one, there is a lot of what you say going on here on Yanswers. But it is two sided. It's not just Americans hating Mexicans, it's Mexicans hating Americans as well. Those who hate on here, hate equally and maintain a pretty fair balance. Racism has been around forever, it's part of the human condition, just as hate is. Arguing racism only breeds more racism and more hate. Look past it, ignore those that bother you with racism and learn what the real issues of immigration are in this country. This fight is not really about race, on either side, it's just some insist that it is. Just noticing shows your maturity, keep that growing, hate and racism doesn't have to be a part of your life unless you choose it. You have the choice. Thank God for that. peace

Welcome to the immigration forum! You have lots to see everyday! People who 'hate' Mexicans are ignorant, uneducated dorks! They do not have a sense of what is legal nor illegal just because they don't look like them. I am 100% Mexican, look it, act like it, but that doesn't mean that I am terrible. I was born in the U.S., educated and not quick to judge. I also carry an American flag on the outside, but never forget where I am from, that is why the Mexican flag is in my heart!

Remember the Alamo.... I have been the victim of plenty of racism from the mexican community... my cousins are in the national guard they are going to patrol the border hopefully effectively keeping lazy mexican illegals from entering the country if they weren't so lazy they would fix things in thier own country instead of coming to my country where my forefathers marched for equality just so a bunch of illegals can come here and disrespect black people so that the former President Vincente Fox can disrespect black people so that mexicans can use racist comic strips in thier newspaper... The problem isn't US it's Mexican....

Simply because people are ignorant to the facts and unwilling to learn about something new. And I do not mean ignorant as in stupid, I mean uneducated. They do not know everything they need to know about something before they decide whether or not they like it. For example, look at our president. People, in general, don't like change, especially if it makes them look like they have been wrong all these years. I think everyone should just be people instead of black, white, Mexican, Asian, etc. Just be a good person, and the good will come back to you in your own time.
