They feel that they have the opportunity to proceed with their plan, regardless of the consequences, because they have the power and many who support them do so for personal gain and just do not care about others.

The right wing has been 'framing' issues for a long time. This means they come up with a catch-phrase that erases or confuses the meaning of what they say:
So - for global warming they are "waiting for the science to some in" even though the scientific community has supported the threat and evidence of global warming for some time. This keeps them from flat out saying they reject global warming where they might lose some percentage points among enviromentally conscious conservatives.
The current bill to cut inheritance taxes for the ultra-rich and set up a staggered minimum-wage hike is really hust a move to get the tax cut and DELAY the inevitable minimum wage increase.
But it is called the "Minimum Wage bill" when spoken of.

I feel sorry for you. You must believe that Al Gore is God or something. That movie is pathetic. Yes I've seen it and I had to hold back my laughter. It's hilarious how easily democrats are brain washed. Just believe anything you see. Yes the ice caps are melting and yes there is global warming. But this has been going on for hundreds of years. And the Earth will still be just fine for millions of years to come. I can rest easy on that one.
Of course us "right wingers" are going to label it liberal propaganda. We're just being nice because what we really want to call movies like an inconvenient truth and Fahrenheit 9/11 is complete and total BULL.

Scientists are saying that we're headed for an irreversible global warmup. It wasn't long ago that scientists were saying we were heading towards a global cooldown - a mini-iceage they said. In both instances, they said we were responsible for changing the global climate.
And yet, we can't get the government to OK nuclear reactors to replace fossilfuel-burning plants that spew out all that harmful CO2. We have a place to put the spent uranium, processes to reuse spent uranium if we want to, and still we haven't built a new reactor in almost 40 years! Arg. Is big coal in the republican's pocket too, or are all two senators from WestVirginia preventing it? ;-)
Oh yeah, almost forgot - Michael More is quite possibly the only other democrat I could think of with less credability than Al Gore. Do you think somebody who ran for president doesn't owe a few favors to the party? ;-)

An inconvienet FACT . . . you write that the movie presents real actual scientific proof . . .
And yet . . . Lake Chad, which is mentioned as drying out due to Global Warming is rescinding and it's NOT because of Global Warming!
Lake Chad is located in a landlocked area with the nations of Chad, Niger, Nigeria, and Cameroon surrounding it. The lake is located in one of THE most dry, and arid parts of central Africa. Niger and Chad are totally landlocked.
Chad: "Due to its distance from the sea and its largely desert climate, the country is sometimes referred to as the "dead heart of Africa".
Niger: Is, according to the UN, the poorest nation in the world.
The lake is SHALLOW, only about 14 feet deep on average.
Farmers have been OVERUSING this for irrigating their fields, and watering their livestock.
The facts: FOUR nations which more then likely do NOT have Riparian rights established ("riparian" rights is a real estate term for water rights -- who uses what, etc. it's a system of allocating water among the property owners who abut its source,); TWO landlocked nations who are literally dirt poor; ONE shallow lake located in the middle of a DESERT abutting THE most poorest country in the world . . . the decreasing size of the lake has nothing to do with these factors??!?!? Yeah, right. It's all about Global Warming!
These areas have nothing BUT Lake Chad to supply them with water.
People living around Lake Chad are in SURVIVAL mode, not conservation mode!
Do you get it?!?! Do you see how some people NEED water to survive, and overuse what's there?
In 1908 and again in 1984 the lake nearly dried out, and the average was only 4.5 feet. Global warming had nothing to do with the lake nearly drying out in 1908. It happens.
FACT: There was a mention of the changing landscapes proving things. One such reference was Mt. Kilamanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. There won't be any more snow on Kilamanjaro -- which is a book title by Ernest Hemingway "The Snows of Kilamanjaro written in the 30's.
Keep in mind . . . Mt. Kilamanjaro is an active volcano. In 2003 scientists found molten lava 400 meters below the crater summit.
400 meters is 1/4 (one-quarter) of a mile!
WOW imagine that . . . boiling, bubbling HOT LAVA 0.25 miles below the summit of an active volcano and there's a decline in snow?!? No wonder. And scientist think that when the summit collapses, and they think it will, it will be cause an eruption similar to Mt. St. Helens.
Try putting an ice cube on the stove when the oven is at 350 degrees -- NOT in the oven, just put in on the stove. WOW -- the ice cube melts.
You don't think an ACTIVE volcano with MOLTEN LAVA 1/4 mile from the summit crest has anything to do with the lack of snow on the mountain?!?
Oh, I could go on and on . . .
Try watching the July 27, 2006 -- 109th Congress hearing on the subject. Watch all 4hours 41 minutes and 25 seconds of it.

I agree totally. "Right wingers" are the biggest finger pointers you can imagine, to try to get the focus off their faults. They always have been known for that. They don't want us to think for ourselves. I know that you probably did not intend for this to be a religious issue when you asked your question, but being a Christian myself, I think it's important for politicians who claim to represent something, to act like it. They really don't. Is it any wonder people get confused about who to trust, or even about religion, when there are so many double standards and lies? Of course global warming exists. They know, but they don't care. It should be crystal clear what they do care about, but some people can't (don't want to)see the forest for the trees. They care about power and money- they are greedy, and big business yanks their cords. The important thing for us (the people) to do is to keep our eyes open, and don't be fooled by any particular party. When the majority wakes up, I hope it's not too late.
And, what movie is this that I should see about global warming?

I'm with absenceofear74. Did you know that in the 70s, the "proof" that we were entering another ice age was irrefutable? And now we're going into global warming, thirty years later.
The earth has seen many heating and cooling trends, many before we had even one-hundredth of the technology we have now, and before humans even walked the earth. Therefore, from this we can conclude that yes, we are seeing a heating trend. No, it doesn't mean it's the end of the world. No, it doesn't mean that it's not going to cool right back down again.

Remeber, "right wingers" are the one that control industries or are involved in industries or, are paid PAC monies from industries, SO, they will deny EVERYTHING, so that thier "consitutents" are happy!
They neither care about anyone else, but, whom ever pays thier salaries, and Bribe monies...
But, I will still stay with the Republican Party, (though my hearts is with the Democratic Party), simply because they are against abortion...
I wish you well..

They only allow certain things into their world view. Those that exemplify this the most are the Christian Right; they are raised from birth to think that any time someone says anything that conflicts with their view is lying to them in order to lead them to the devil. (And they are the ones making fun of conspiracy theorists....)

Right-wing mentality demands that they be right about anything on which they hold an opinion, especially when they are clearly wrong. It is just a cross over effect from their blind support for their superstitional (religious) beliefs.

Just the fact that they deny something and label it such just shows their lack of evidence to rebuke or their laziness to rebuke properly.
The Right is a scary place to be.
