I think the painting you are referring to is called "NIGHT RUN" check out a site called "Spirit of the Horse Gallery" the artwork of Kim McElroy..I hope this helps.. many of the artwork on the site involved horses painted into many elements..it may not be the exact one, but I believe you will find it there...good luck

I think Bob Seger used it as an album cover, can't remember the album's name though. Should be able to find out on his website.
