Ok heres the deal.... I have a 6 month old son. I have been on birth control since he was 6 weeks old. I had been taking the pills regular but then some stressful situations came up and I just plain out forgot to take them for like 5-6 days, So I thought I would wait until I started my period and then just start a new pack, Well the last time I took a pill was on the 21 of june, No period yet, And 2 p/g test say neg. So I don't know what is going on? Any advice would be great. I am 24 years old, this is the first time I have ever been on Birth control pills. so I don't know if this is normal.

Birth Control pills work by modifying your hormone balances, and in particular by really boosting certain hormones.

It may take up to a month to start your period. Don't be surprised if it's heavier flow than usual.

I suggest seeing a doctor just to make sure everything is ok. I wouldn't heed advice from Yahoo med school students. They are not real doctors just because they've stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once.

If you are breast feeding that will make your periods stop even if you are taking the mini pill. I would call your doctor if you are really worried about it.

If you are only breastfeeding, then you won't have your period for a while. But this does not mean that you cannot get pregnant.
