It actually seems to me like noses and ears get bigger!

I'm really not sure.

Actually I have heard the opposite is true. If you notice, older people usually in their 70s + have bigger ears and noses. I think it has to do with the the decline in the use of those parts and the body tries to make up for it by growing in size.

This is just a guess though.

Mine certainly hasn't.

It's vital, however, for young people to avoid any plastic surgery until they've reached physical maturity. A conscientious plastic surgeon would simply refuse to do that sort of unnecessary work on a body that hasn't stopped growing.

What you and your parents probably "heard", correctly, is that when you "finish growing up", both physically AND emotionally, you'll realize your nose isn't really so "big" after all. Or even better, if it is a prominent fixture, you'll realize that it's part of what makes you uniquely beautiful.

Maybe as you hit your 20's your face will grow enough to catch up to your nose. BUT in reality as we age our nose's and ears keep growing. Sorry not what you wanted to hear but it is true =(
Also, explains all the old men you see w/big ears and noses!

Your nose and ears continue to grow throughout your lifetime. The only way to reduce the size of your nose is plastic surgery.

No the nose and ears continue to grow! Because they are cartilage. The feet seem like they grow too, but it's really just spread.
