Why do people?

when someone asks would you IM me? or wanna chat? or i need to talk to some one?

why do people respond: "this is not a chat room!!!" is it a crime to ask that question? or is it againsat yahooo ans?

People just get too freaking uptight about things on Yahoo Answers. Same deal with giving stupid answers to questions they know nothing about.

Because its not a chat room, its Yahoo Answers. Your supposed to ask a question and get answers. Your not supposed to be just looking for people to talk to. I think the concept here is pretty easy to comprehend.
