another example of the lack of creativity that went into writing the Bible.

He calls himself many things: the great I AM, the first and the last, the beginning and the end, the everlasting, Yahweh, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God, the prince of peace, the deliverer, the Messiah, Lord, Master, Son of Man, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Mighty God, wonderful Counselor and many more. He has so many titles because each title describes some unique aspect of his character and who he is. It is impossible to fully understand God, but we can know a little about him though his many names and titles. And for the record, allah is not one of his names. allah is not the real God.

God is a title, just like Lord or Father. Your dad's name isn't really "dad", but out of love and respect, that's what you call him.

Maybe because GOD is the ultimate and does not have a title. The name GOD is what he is. Just like Truth is what it is. Justice is what it is. Love it what it is. Get it?

"God" is a translation of the original "Elohim."
The closet thing we have for a name of God is YHWH (exodus 3:14 and Isaiah 42:8), which in Hebrew means The Eternal, Self-Existent One, who was understood to be the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob / The God of Israel.
The name has not been pronounced by the Jews out of reverence, so it is typically translated as "Lord."
For many years, YHWH has been transliterated as "Yahweh," but there's no certainty that this is how He would say it."
(Note: there is no "J" sound in Hebrew, so JHVH is an improper rendering of the name, which some transliterate as "Jehovah.")

God has many names, but God is a fairly all inclusive term. Since there were no gods before Him and there won't be any gods after Him....that makes Him the One and Only God.

God is not really his name. The term is the identification for a deity. In the Christian sense, the highest. Christianity has not given him a name, although born-again equate him with Jesus.
In Islam, of course, he is known as Allah.

God isn't his name. God is an English word formed way after Jesus and every other prophet preached about Him.

That is because Christians are not suppose to refer to Yahweh by name. It falls under 'Thou shall not take thy Lord's name in vane.' clause. I know at one point in the past people would use YHWH which is him name minus vowels but that fell out of favor of just God or Lord because they believe he is the only one out there.

God's name isn't God...his real name is I AM. He is the past, present, and future. He is constantly. I guess we call Him God because well its just how it is.
