Best free blog engine?

Question

I host my own website, and need a GOOD PHP blog engine that is free.

I use to use Serendipity.. but to be honest, I am tired of it crashing.

any suggestions?

Serendipity just has so many different great plug ins, I'm afraid I won't find one that matches!!

I don't want to use someone else's host site, such as blogger.com or what have you. I want an engine that I can host on my OWN site.
