my bf always says "aww... I WUV you... etc etc..." we've been dating a year and we've never looked eachother in the eye and said the L word... any thoughts? I guess there is a bit of embarrassment involved, and he is really shy, but there definitely is love present... should I look at him and just tell him one day?

They say that maybe because they think it's cute, or all fluffy and sweet, and probably a lot less scary to say if they're afraid you don't love them back.
Yes, I think you should! When you're cuddled up next to him during a movie, or out to lunch, whatever - just look at him, smile, and say "I love you."

No disrespect to your bf ,but I'm a guy, and I've never used the word "wuv".
I take it he was refering to love, or as I like to call it the big L, the brain sqeezer, the heart wrencher, the money taker, but never "wuv".
Does this make me against love, Hell no, I search for it everyday.

They try to be cute and suck up to you.....sometimes it is an cop out of saying the real thing....it's just like saying luv ya! it's not "i love you" which is what us girls look for. I don't know it must be a guy thing....u should try asking ur boyfriend why he does it....

wuv is said by boys, love is said by men, i'm guessing that yous are young other wise you would be able to look each other in the eye and say you love each other

Because the "L" word implies some kind of committment and the "W" word is cute and sweet and you're not going to take it seriously.

yes, he may be a bit hesitant about saying the "L" word. We tend to make things silly or joke about things when were uncomfortable. maybe you can bring it up and tell him you love him first but not in a joking manner and see what his response is.

Maybe because he's not sure that he does love you, but he feels comfortable enough saying it like a little baby would to his mommy.

Apparantly there's discomfort on both sides. Look him in the eye, and ask HIM this question. If you cant do it, then how/why do you expect him to?
