Good point on your question and in tandem with the facts. Consider that the real problem is that the US American Gov. isn't doing it's job which is to protect and serve it's citizenry. It' bogus and fraudulent. the Gov collects taxes to do this job and then uses the money to allow illegals into the country and serve them. The lawbreakers.
The real culprits in our society is our government, not the illegals. Yes, the illegals are here as opportunists/parasites on our society but that could have been and should have been prevented.
Take taxes and the costs of living in the USA (Car/Insurance, healthcare, retirement) out of a minimum wage and what one nets, is probubly not possible to eat and live on.
The illegals come here and don't pay the same costs. Drive without license, no reg or insurance, no healthcare, and many I suspect don't pay tax as they are paid in cash. These folks live better than Americans as they don't have the same cost and live outside of the system until they need education, social welfare and so on. Then they dip into the reserves of the American taxpayer. It's wrong and needs to be changed.
A second Amnesty is not the answer.

It will hurt more than most people realize. And not in a good way. Even if there was a cost of living raise it won't help. You will have more people struggling than ever before. And not only the people making minimum wage but the Middle Class will definitely feel the pain if the Middle Class is still here in a few years. I really don't see how Amnesty will help this country at all. It might even be our downfall.

$10 per hour is roughly $20,000 a year, which isn't great, but it's certainly liveable. Most people at this income level pay very little, if any, in income taxes, which means they're living off of over $1,500 per month. A single parent with many children may have difficulties with this, but there are many social programs to help them.

I don't understand the argument that amnesty will have any real affect on the ocupations you mentioned, afterall the illegal immigrants generally do not go these jobs.

We will end up like the division in every third world country. Rich and poor. No longer a middle class existence. Yeah, let's vote for amnesty and become like the countries they are fleeing from. Corruption will be even worse. I suggest you all go back and get a useless degree...

1st of all I do not believe the government will grant amnesty to them because of the political backlash. As for affecting them wages will either go up or the jobs will remain unfilled

These are issues that we all have to deal with. But I'm thinking we need to address this with the "Globalists" who are pressing their program on without fair consideration of the social, political, and environmental implications of just forcing globalization on the masses with the economic "trickle down" agenda favored by corporations.

Do we realize that our crys fall on deaf ears within the goverments? Who do they answer to?

It will drive down their already menial salaries! It puts 11mill on people into an already crowded unskilled job market. Its a recipe for disaster and will eventually cause a depression like era.

I guess I don't make much and could easily be replaced. I see I am not alone by those figures.
I hope the Government has a plan that answers that.

granting amnesty is a good idea

that way, they will be legal and people can stop whining and telling them to get out

Actually everyone who is working is probably working for minimum wage. It's the minimum wage they will accept and still work where they are.
