This is a good question. You shouldn't just throw your phone in the garbage because the battery is not good for the environment. Whoever is your cellular provider (Cingular, Sprint, Nextel, etc.) take your phone to the closest location and have them dispose the phone for u. Alot of the parts of the phone can be recycled!! If your city offers recycling services, you can take the phone there also.

They can be recycled. Do a little research to find out where in your local area you can deposit it for recycling, along with your printer cartridges.
