I do not "worry" about "him" ask ANY well known scientist if they believe in "God" . It has been PROVEN that there is no "God" I know it is sad and hard to imagine,it took me a long time to deal with the fact that "this" is "it" but once you do,and you accept it, you will find that life is much easier, less trying to live up to standards that even mother theresa would find difficult,no more looking for a "sign" THIS is it! and the sooner you accept it the better your life will be! WOW!!!! If you did not read DuckPhup you better go back and read it,as a matter of fact, read it TWICE!! and if DuckPhup is reading this...I could not have said it better my self, DuckPhup...YOU ARE THE MAN!!!DuckPhup, your my kind of guy!!!

I don't worry about a non-existent, made up fairy tale. But I do worry when people use THEIR beliefs to try and get me to change my beliefs, or to fight religious wars, or to take a superior attitude because others don't believe like them.

Here's what I think:

You believe in a god who killed his only son.
I believe there *might* be a more compassionate supreme being.

You believe I should think like you.
I believe you have an absolute right to be different from me.

You believe the whole world should share your beliefs.
I believe in free will (which is something YOUR god supposedly gave to mankind.)

I'm proud to NOT call myself a christian.

Please give examples of atheists worrying about 'God'. I post here often and I've never seen any atheists expressing worry or concern over 'God'.

I'm not an atheist, by the way, but I am anti-ignorance, which includes bible stories.

I have no worries about god. After all, it would be silly to worry about something for which there is no evidence of existence... just like it is silly to say something like "If all of you atheist don't believe in God, then why do you worry so much about him?" Such a question displays an obvious inability to think clearly. But, be that as it may, there is still plenty to worry about... not god, but rather the minions who have deluded themselves into believing that they are doing 'the work' of this mythological monstrosity.

Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.

All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."

Wake up. Take a stand. Do something. By allowing this insidious agenda to progress, we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious nut-jobs are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

Oops... wait a minute... YOU'RE not one of those religious nut-jobs... are you?

I don't worry about god. I worry about the religion that worships god, and the insane things that those people do in "his" name. This goes for all the monotheist religions, but especially Islam and Christianity.

the problem is that christians want a theocracy. thats why Atheists AND Pagans are worried. there are loons that say this is a christian nation if you dont like it then leave, and it makes people that want pluralism(religions other than just one) very uneasy. I think people forget the dark ages and the witchtrials and who caused them. most christians scream that they brought us out of the dark ages, the way america is going, half of americans are worried.

Atheists are not worried about your god.

They are sick and tired, however, of having you try to ram your religious beliefs down their throat, and worse... trying to use the government and rule of law to do it.

Your "god" is no threat.
Your politics, however, threaten to divide and destroy the US.

I worry about me. Your fictional boss doesn't do anything. You doing things in his name makes the world a worse place for me.
