You have to roll with the punches. I suggest you attend Al-Anon meetings for family members if alcoholics. They can really help you a lot.
Remember they are not drinking because of you. Their life has spiraled out of control and they can no longer manage their lives. Nothing you can do will make them stop. they need to come to the realization on their own. Most of the time it gets much worse before it gets better
So check out alanon and get some support for YOU.
God bless you guys and good luck!!
Eddie
Gratefully recovering

Step in and let them see what the consequences of alcoholism are. Let your child attend an AA meeting (I recommend the adult level meetings for better effect). I also suggest you allow your child to witness a DUI court trial. The sentencing can get really tough. Let your child look at his/her association and determine who he/she should be hanging out with.

On a personal note: My husband has a brother who is now in probation in the DUI courts where we live. His parents knew of many families in their neighborhood. One of these is a motivational speaker. He has made millions in speaking on self-esteem and all that jazz. My husband's parents trusted this person years ago. What they didn't realize was that he was promoting an unhealthy lifestyle for his kids and others. He was allowing teens to come to his house and tap an unlimited supply of alcohol.

My mother-in-law is now working on her counseling degree. for the first time, she is having to confront the background of issues dealing with association and peer pressure. She doesn't carry the same regard for certain lifestyles on the surface level.

properly, darling, for the rationalization that, until the midsection an prolonged time, it became lawful - in the two the church's and the civil government' eyes - for a pair who meant to marry yet had no longer yet executed in an attempt to have intercourse (they'd no longer be charged with fornication if caught), and that the church did no longer blink whilst called upon to solemnize a pair's marriage on the comparable time it baptized their first 2 toddlers (given the situation of return and forth and the occasional shortage of clergymen), it variety of feels to me that the physique of recommendations of modern-day Christians in the direction of pre-marital intercourse and the fetishizing of virginity owes extra to the nineteenth century Victorian attitude than to any church teachings. yet this is basically my opinion.
