Most muslims do not use the quran as an excuse to do violence. I don't know the exact writings so I won't comment on that, but you shouldn't condemn an entire people because of a few extremists.
And if we're talking about violence, let's talk about the Judeo-Christian God. Look at Pesach. God sent death to all of the first born of Egyptian families and then killed an entire army following the Jews. The army may have signed on for the danger, but how could you so easily condemn the children. We may consider the Egyptians wrong for their treatment of the Jews, but plenty of Biblical figures had slaves. It's just that God saw fit to attack a certain group of people who owned slaves, simply because their beliefs were different.
Need I mention the Crusades?
All I'm trying to say is that the typical Western religions have plenty of blood on their hands too.

but seriously --- are u serious? - u pose the question as if muslims are blindfolded! - ur misconception - Deep down in our hearts - we know, respect, and love islam...not for stupid reasons...blind faith does not go with the spirit of islam...
----------
“Say: O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine.” ( Quran chap 109 )
-----
“Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands clear from error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.” (Quran 2:256).

How can you believe in a book that is spawning groups and even nations bent of world domination, and wanton murder in the name of its god? How can you support a book that is causing one group of followers, to blow up the mosques and peoples of ANOTHER group of followers? Daily murder, and a true lack of outcry from the majority of the world that claims that this is "A Religion of Peace." It does not seem to be such a peaceful book.

FIRST OF ALL!!!! THE QUR`AN AND BIBLE ARE ALMOST THE SAME... FOR UR INFORMATION. AND YES WE DO REALLY BELIEVE IN IT. IF YOU WOULD READ IT YOU WOULD SEE THAT ALMOST EVERYTHING ON THERE IS TRUE 100% TRUE. AND WHY DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE.??? DO U JUST WANNA KEEP YOUR FAMILY HAPPY?? WTF? U NEED TO START ASKING SOME NON-RACIAL QUESTIONSZ FOREALZ. AND THE QURAN IF YOU READ IT SAYS NOTHING ABOUT KILLING OR MURDERING. AND IT IS THE ONLY TRUE BOOK THAT HAS NEVER BEEN CHANGED SINCE IT CAME DOWN. NOT LIKE THE BIBLE. WHAT KIND OF RELIGION WOULD ALLOW SOO MUCH STUPID THINGS YOU GUYS ARE ALLOWED TO DO. AND YOU HAVE TO ASK YOUR FATHER FOR FORGIVENESS OF SOMETHIN? WUT THE HELL .. SO I WOULDN;T START ANYTHIN.

I only believe that God allowed it to spread because Swedenborg said so. OK, well also that it obviously combats atheism just like Swedenborg said. It is like why was Mormonism and JW allowed to spread. Same deal.

You believe in something because you have faith. You have faith because you have hope and you do all this for sake of love!
