also, what is appropriate attire? he said dress comfortably since it's 10 hours in a car, but I remember reading you should wear business attire (no jeans).

You show up. Go to the front door. If there is no one to let you in (like it's closed on a Saturday) either ring the bell or pick up a phone that will connect you to dispatch, and they'll send someone for you. Or get the officer's cell phone number, and call him directly.

Appropriate attire would be business style clothes. You can go formal, but just dress nice. As a guy, I would forgo a tie, but wear a button up shirts. For women, well don't wear anything provactive. Also make sure you will be comfortable for heat, rain, or cold. And be aware, WW3 could start any second, and it's hard to run away in open toed shoes.

before my hubby became a cop and did ride alongs he had always met the cop at the station! For the fact that if he was done riding along he could just leave whenever the cop went to the station and this way the cop wouldnt have to go out of his way to take him home! But there r cops who will pick ya up! So I'd say ur best bet would be to call him back! He isnt goin to get mad or anything...

For your benefit to get the correct information call the officer back at the station.

Ride alongs here females wear a skirt and nice blouse with flat's.You could do a nice pant's suit, what ever you think would make you feel comfartable on a 10 hour ride in a police car.

Depending on where you live, you would usually go to the PD.

Give the Officer a call back - just let him know that you are double checking where and when you are meeting. This will help you out and give a little clarity; It will show the Officer that you are eager to learn. If you reach another Officer on duty, ask him/her to relay the message to your Officer for him to call you back.

You should wear slacks, black is a good color. no open toe shoes.

You are suppose to meet him at the police station at the start of his shift, call the dispatch to see when you should arrive and where.
