You are not really in love...just lust. And any woman at 55 would be flattered. She would enjoy sex with you....a nice young body and still can get it up dick. But, she might not want to go there, because she is your moms friend.....If you guys should get together and do it, know this, it will cause alot of trouble. It will destroy a friendship, and your mom will always love you, but she probably will never again look at you the same, and will always harbour some resentment,,,,,actually to the both of you. A lasting relationship is not REALLY going to develop, the age difference is just to great. My suggestion..please leave her alone....and try to find someone else "you want"

My mother is 52 and dating a guy that is 31, hes only 2 years older than me, it makes it a little awkward for me to be around them, talk to your mom about it before you pursue anything. My mom talked to me and my sisters after she started seeing the guy, they are very happy together but I don't think it will last because of the age difference. They have different views on things because they come from different generations

If you just want to sleep with her, then go for it. But you have to realize it can never work out long term. There is too big of an age difference, dude she is twice your age, and she’s almost ready to file for social security. I vote have some fun together for a little while, but go find someone your own age too grow old with. Peace…

If you're both available, ask the lady if you may take her to lunch.
Then a casual dinner out.
While you're out, bring up what you know about cooking and such and see if she'll invite you to her place for dinner.
That's when you tell her your feelings and dreams, and if she's interested then you should both be happy.
