Maybe because there are more Christians in the United States than other beliefs or opinions. Maybe it is because they are getting bashed by others when they ask a question that they want serious answers for a response instead of being called an idiot by atheist and other groups of non-believers. I at least try to be respectful when a person ask a question concerning something I am familiar with and may have a fair amount of knowledge about. I hope as a Christian I can say something and get a soul saved. What's in it for an atheist? Is he just lonely or what? He can't possibly think he is doing anyone a favor by getting someone to convert to his beliefs. I want everone to go to heaven with me.

Because obviously... if you're spending time on here, you have nothing better to do (even if you're at work, I suppose) and people who have nothing better to do, often concern themselves with that kind of thought process. Comparison is good, debating is good discussing is wonderful but for the most part, I respect religion for the sole purpose that I believe it is a necessary step in the right direction. I do not believe in it or that it is necessarily the right way to go for reasons I have expressed frequently and elaborately... No one really cares I think? Some people have these generational religious concepts that are mostly passed down through the family and attach themselves to anything that will perpetuate their need to be both right and their inbread desire to abuse anyone who disagrees with what goes on in their tiny little section of the universe. It is ignorant, it is wrong and it is foolish to ever assume that considering how vast and incredible this world is that any one person has coined the correct answer to anything concerning the matters of the invisible or the etheral.
People tend to forget that religion is predominately based on faith and faith is a decided choice to hold all your eggs in one basket and stop considering and cointemplating the validity of any other option. It is foolish as a life-practice and even the Bible itself says so. It says to HAVE faith but it does not say to close yourself off to every other option or to bash the way anyone else finds their way to God.
We do all do it in one form or another though so I can't sit here and claim innosence. I too get fruestrated with religious people and do tend to weigh my opinion heavier than theirs. I just think that people need to research rather than ever trust the word of anyone else in the form of a preacher, a priest or anyone else claiming to have all the answers to the needs of an indivisual soul being a part of every other soul in existence. Religion is beautiful conceptually but err's so greatly where it get's lost in the human need to divide and conquer. It is sad really...

Sorry, I'm a christian and I don't bad mouth anyone's religion. Everyone has the choice of religion to follow. We all pray to the same GOD (in most cases) Besides, how could someone badmouth something or someone they don't know? If a christian is badmouthing another tell him / her to read Matt. 7:1. "Judge not, the ye be not judged."

I've noticed that the two extremes tend to badmouth each other and anyone stuck in the middle. Most of these questions attract those who want to attack Christians and those who want to use the cross to either beat you into submission or kill you in the process. those of us who sit more in the middle tend to find a new meaning to the proverbial rock and a hard place. Such is the life in a public venue.

Quite simply the first commandment is "I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have no other gods before me" Visit the following website Religious Tolerance.org. It is an interesting site giving input on topical issues and from many perspectives, from various faiths. It is not a rant and rave site but one that hopes to tackle many issues. You have nothing to lose by checking it out and possibly will gain something in return.I don't think most Christians want to alienate others but wish to share their faith. The message of love, hope and peace is not such a terrible message and in difficult times it can be a source of strength.

"Did you notice that Christians on yahoo answers is (are) the only people who badmouth other people's religions."
- No, others do it too. (doesn't make it right though).
"I don't care what religion you are."
- Oh, really? (it appears you do).

Atheists do as well. I guess no one realizes the meaning of personal belief. Everyone thinks they are right and everyone who thinks something else is wrong or ignorant. Its not a utopia where ever you go there will be a disagreement on religion and almost everything else.

~ Christians are suppose to adhere to the Bible's teachings.
It states that professing to be a Christian doesn't make you one ... living by what it teaches does. (Luke 6:45, Gal 5:22-25)

I have notice that people who are not Christians bash Christians a lot more than Christians bash them. If anything Christians are more defensive.
