Here is a good way to get rid of fleas and it's natural and not harmful to any living thing: Diatomaceous earth

It can be found @ pool stores and is very cheap for a very large amount. It can be sprinkled on carpets and pets both. Not at all harmful!

You can read about it here under pest control: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatomaceous_earth#Pest_control

Good luck!

You need to do a couple of things. First, get some Frontline Plus for your dog. This is a flea & tick treatment for dogs that already have fleas. You can purchase this from your vet. Second, flea bomb...more than once. You will need to do it again in about a week to kill all the fleas that just hatched, as the ones in eggs are not affected by the bombing. To be safe, you could even do it a third time. The instructions will tell you how many cans you need for your house size and to put away all food. Then you, the dog and all other living things leave for a few hours. Good luck!!!

Best Way To Kill Fleas

I use Advantage on my pets. It kills the fleas on the pet and in the house very quickly. You can get Adams flea spray (in a blue spray bottle) which can be sprayed on the carpet, furniture, and even the pets. Just remember to spray thoroughly (under the beds and couches, etc. If the spray doesn't help, a fogger or bomb will work very well. You have to cover appliances and fish tanks. You also have to take all of the pets out of the house while you do it. I put a bomb in the center of each room (set up on a chair or barstool if you can). Open dresser drawers just a little bit so nothing is missed, and don't forget to open closet doors. After about 4 hours (refer to the specific product instructions) come in and open all of the windows for another couple of hours. After that you can come home and bring in the pets. Make sure you treat the pets before you bomb or the fleas will come right back. After bombing, you have to vacuum very well to get any dead fleas.

I think everybody forgets sthing real easy and simple------
High temperature will kill the fleas , larvae and eggs immediately!!! So

1. Steam the floor with steam mop often.
2. Steam furniture, sofa, mattress...with steam iron.
3. Dry your clothes, sheets, pillows ... anything you can with high heat in your dryer often.

Do those three things everyday if you have time.

Plus use flea traps both outside and inside. You can make simple flea traps yourself: Light up a kindle or small light bulb in the center (or beside the dish or cooking pan)of a dish or cooking pan. Fill in the dish or cooking pan with soupy water;

Plus bath your pets with salty water often. I use one bottle of salt in 15 or 20 gallon water .

The flea infection will be under control right away.

Poor Salt, all over, your house !!! I promise you, this is so effective!!! The fleas eat the salt, and will die from it !!! We had fleas,so bad when I was a teenager, my mom, was desperate, to get rid of them!!! You could even see them jumping all the way up to your waist, thats how bad we had them, and noone was ever home, during that time, including our dog!!! So, my mom did the salt thing while we were all away, and had our dog cleaned for fleas, and my gosh, every last one of them were gone!! And thank-God, too........Because, that was the 70s, and they didn't have much on the market for fleas, in those days!!! I would just lay it on reallly thick, everywhere in your whole entire house, even on the tile areas, any flooring, period, your couches, too. And then, after, oh two, three days, just vacuum-up, those fleas & salt !!! Good-Luck, to you!!!

Take the pets to the groomers for the day and get flea baths. At the same time dust the carpet throughout, set fog bombs in each room and go out for the day. Follow up by getting OneSpot for each pet to minimize future issues.

Unless you have fish tanks, the best way is an aerosol flea bomb. It is a spray can that once started, continues to spray by itself until it is empty. Place it on something that will not stain, take your pets with you and then leave the rooms closed up for 6-8 hours. I have used this on more than one occasion.
