I see them all the time, they have some silly message or saying and then at the end it says '-God'

Isn't it heresy to claim to speak for god?

Yeah, that would be a grave sin in biblical times.

Of course, politics are more important then religion to today's christians.

Heretical means something that goes against church doctrine. The scriptures don't mention heresy. Blasphemy is attributing to God that which is not of God or saying that God does evil things. Advertising is both of these plus sacrilege. Seriously, all the prophets have had to claim that they were speaking for God and some insane people do the same. How do you distinguish between the two? In the case of the billboards, the advertisers know that they are not actually speaking for God (don't they?) so they are just making a joke and a mockery of the idea of prophesy and making the entirety of revealed wisdom into a cheap advertising gimmick. Other than that, it shouldn't be a problem unless hell is a real place.
I hope this helps.
P.S. I'm not God any more than you are...or any less.

Of course it is. Why must religious institutions put up such ridiculous advertising? Shouldn't the force of God draw people to church, not billboards on highways? Highly funny, but yes, against most religion's teachings.

churches will put together a catchy slogan to get people to convert..doesn't matter if it's a quotation in the Bible or not..they are not true Christians..funny how those that claim to love God will defile their bodies at the same time and sin almost constantly, but think it's okay because you can always confess your sins on Sunday and put your sins on Jesus' shoulders..how right is that? Religion is a joke.

By strict definition in most religions, yes. I guess people put those billboards up to remind people of God in a light-hearted way. But I suppose presenting Him with a sense of humor is preferable to presenting Him as vengeful to most people, though both aspects are described in major holy writings.

I don't know if it is heretical or not cause I could care less.

All I know is that there are some creative people out there who are making up some awesome ones that mock these so called 'Billboards of "God"'

I always thought they were more of something said in the bible, but in that case it should say the book or the writer, not just God. But I don't mind the ones that just "I love you", or some thing kind. They're nicer then what I get from most Christians.

I think it depends on your denomination whether or not you think it's heretical. It would seem to me to be very heretical to put words in God's mouth so to speak.

Yeah, it's just humanity. Why must we think we could get anywhere near the thought processes (for lack of a better term) of the Omnipotent, Invincible, Almighty One?

Yes. Thank you. I see alot of really stupid things on billboards outside of churches. I wish these d0u(h&b@gs would realize what an incredible turnoff it is.
