Has anyone ever accused you of being "too picky"? If so, what do you think about that?

Yes... many times....

Here is my opinion on the topic: There is nothing wrong with dating around and having fun. I enjoy it, its good to see what is out there. And it can be frustrating to never get to that next step. The truth is, I might well have commitment issues... ha... but the way I see it is, you can never be too picky about who you want to spend the rest of your life with.

If I ever get married, it will be for life. I know, I know... you never know what will happen. But if you go into any sort of serious relationship with doubt, then you are dooming it from the start.

I hate when people say things like "if it doesn't work out, there is always divorce"... so I say, go on being picky, if that is what you are. Eventually you will find the person who has been looking for you as well, and you'll be glad you didn't settle for Mr. Right Now

Yes, I've been accused of being too picky. However, the thing is that I am rather picky. I wouldn't just date anyone, and I definitely wouldn't get into a serious relationship with just anyone. I think I am picky, but I don't think it is too picky. I don't want to set myself up for heartbreak, if I can help it.

Sure. And the short answer is: Picky and Proud of It.

The longer answer is: 42 and by the grace of God getting a better idea of what I want and raising the standards every year (if not more frequently :> )

Bottom line: Better the happy life of an old maid than an unhappy relationship with someone I'm not on the same page with in the important stuff.

Too picky? More like waiting for the right guy to come along.

Don't worry about it :)

Well as a 'sista', we have had a reputation of not necessarily being picky, but having "much attitude", so it is hard to date, because guys think immediatly that if you are a sista that you only want money. So hence the thought that we are picky, but that is so untrue.

Yes. I tell them that divorce rate is to high right now and I'm not settling. I have the fear of being married to someone that I wouldn't want to be married to. I use to hate that but tell them that your looking for the right one and your not settling for any man.
