We took our two dogs for a walk yesterday. We walked for about an hour on a dirt road in temps of about 85-90 degrees. Within an hour of getting home, we noticed that one of the dogs was licking his paws. Closer examination revealed that the pads of his paws were peeling off. He also seemed a little flushed even though he had had some water during the hike and after we got back as well.
Any ideas?

Be sure to wipe them with a cool wash cloth. The petstore sells a moisturizer for their pads. It comes in a can like shoe polish and you just rub their feet on it.
