Kids go through stages when they eat eat eat. My doctor told me a child's body would let them know what they need. He told me never force them to eat and when they want to eat let them eat all they want. I'm not sure the weight for a 4 year old, mine is 4 and he is tall and skinny he eats all day long but he is very active he weighs 32 lbs. He is underweight on the growth chart but the Dr. says he is healthy not to worry.

Honestly, we cannot draw the line as to what should be the weight of a 4-year old. Weight and height varies with different children, as well as with kids of different races. Also, genetics has a role in it. There are many variables to be considered. Even if your child is eating less than she should during mealtimes, the best is for her to snack frequently. That is how she catches up with the nutrients that her body needs. Frankly, 4-year olds tend to eat less although this can be relative with other kids, too. If you have doubts or are worried about your child's well-being, and if you think that she looks weak and has little energy when she plays, then go ahead and consult a pediatrician. At least, talking with a medical professional will ease down your worries and would be able to help your child if she really has a problem. But overall, as what you are saying, so long as your kid is active and is not showing any signs of weakness, she should be fine.

I'd say more then 25 lbs for a 4 year old. There is really no specific weight she is suppose to be. My 4 1/2 yr old son weighs 32 lbs, and my 2 1/2 yr old daughter weighs 35lbs. I think as long as your feeding her the right nutritional foods she is fine.

I too having this same problem for my kid (3 Years 10 Months Old Daughter), I have consulted with one of my friend Doctor, he says at this age she should be 15 to 18 Kgs. My kid is exactly 15 kgs now. So no problem for my kid.
At this age your kid also to be the same weight. But i don't know about Stone Messurment (I am from India) You calculate it to Kgs & confirm your kids health & convey to me too.
I am very happy to meet you for such a parenting friend. I like your nature. I always like the kids very much. Thank you for giving me a chance to answer like this parenting Question.

If she only eats when she is hungry, and you are ensuring that what she has to eat is nutritious (i.e., she is not filling up on soda or candy), then she's fine. She's in great shape, as a matter of fact.
Don't mess with her natural ability to regulate appetite and food intake. Lots of adults wish they still had that.

Four year olds are know for being picky eaters. Try to feed her things that are good for her, and if that does not work, then try to sneak vitamins-enriched foods into her diet. My 5 year old is just as picky, and that's what I have to do. Read the ingredients and find the ones that are more helpful to her body. Good luck!!

My son is 45 inches tall and only 40 lbs, ( he is 5 ) He used to be a chunky kid but grew taller and stopped gaining weight. He only eats when he is hungry and eats odd things... I take it as his body is giving him these cravings to give it what it is needing. As long as she is growing and not showing any signs of her being sick or food making her sick, she is probably ok.
