While Moses was up on the Mt. getting the 10 commandments, the Israelites got tired of waiting. they asked Aaron to make them a false god. So he told them to bring him all of their gold, and he would make them a molten calf. So they brought him all of their gold, and he made them a false god. When Moses found out, he melted the golden calf and mixed it with the Israelite water, and made them drink it. But then only two chapters later they are starting to make the tabernacle, and they bring Moses more gold to make part of the tabernacle with. My question is if they used all of their gold to make the calf with which Moses melted and made them drink, where did they get the this other gold to make the tabernacle with?

Exodus 35:22:And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted..."
Did you noticed., "willing hearted". Why do you think that every one that offered gold for the golden calf were willing to depart from their valuables? Those that were willing to give to the golden calf cave all. But, those that didn't, didn't give. The Israelites were many. Also remember between these two chapter, those that didn't want to be in the side of God were killed. Those were provably that gave their gold away.

Think about it.

A couple of chapters could be a few years later, also, the tabernacle didn't have to be made out of gold completely, they could have found more.

not all the Israelites worshipped the golden calf, that's number one.
by the time the tabernacle had been built...a few enemies had been had been defeated and the gold came from there.

Either they got more gold from somewhere, or not all of them gave Aaron all their gold. Sometimes the Bible is inconsistent. It was written by over 400 authors and there were several books that were not used it the final copy.

1. they did not use all the gold for the calf.

2. Gold will pass through (this also will pass), so there would be some panning for gold.

I'm not sure how bad I would want it though.

There was still gold left over after making the calf... Not to difficult.

Maybe Moses din't mix all the gold in their water. That would have been very difficult to drink.

I can't say for sure, but I'd suggest if the people are petty enough to make a false god because they can't wait for Moses, then they are petty enough to not give all of their gold when its asked for.

That's sort of a strange question to ask.... more importantly, why would someone like Aaron who was supposed to be Godly and all that, lose patience and have everyone worship a god he knew was false? I would have loved to been a fly on a rock....

Sound to me like you're reading this as a factual story. It's partially true. Partial truths have little if any real meaning. You also don't know how much time has elapsed between the chapters because the bible hasn't much for time references. PEACE!
