some of them upset me because i want to become a Christian and when i ask for a reason to become one they say "you just got to believe" and "it's called faith". then i point out that that reasoning works with every other religion in the world. and they say "those people are lying." then i ask how they know they are lying and they say because they are Christian, i ask why theya are Chistian and they say "i just believe, its called faith"

Somewhat. I think it's because I go to a Catholic school, which have many Christians under many denominations.

The reason why they upset me is becuase when they find out that you're not "one of them," it's like they chew you out to see what type of religion you are, and then try to convert you. And if I don't, I'm going to go to hell. I feel that this is wrong, but I guess it's expected.

I don't like the fact that they're biased against Pagans, as I am one myself. (I'm a Mystic Pagan...same diff) If they respect all religions, that means that they should be respectful to Pagans too.

Personally, the reason why I feel this way is also because the word "Christian" means "universal" from when I last checked. So, I don't get why there's such bias.

Another reason why Christians upset me, is because you see how it is in other countries. Even throughout history. Christians are fighting Muslims and other denominations for land and conversion....

And no, I am not insecure in my own beliefs, it's just that I don't like what I see, and I am only 17. There's a fine line between being insecure in my own beliefs, and people being insecure in their's.

Not by virtue of their Christian-ness. They can believe that the moon is made of green cheese for all I care.

I get upset when they think that public policy for everyone should be dictate by THEIR religious beliefs. I get upset because that is disrespectful, totalitarian, and rude. Plus, I may not be Christian myself, but I've actually read and studied a lot of them Bible, and it irritates me to see Christians who have obviously 1) never read it or 2) just cherry picked out what they like or 3) twisted it into being what they want to hear instead of what it is.

And I second what Tirya said about conversion, I would never pray for someone else to be forced into abandoning the spiritual and religious beliefs that give them comfort, assistance, and joy. If someone is happy with their belief system and that system prompts them to be a good person, then great! My religion is highly ethical and I sometimes find Christianity to be strong on morality and low on ethics. Or at least, Christianity as it is practiced by most vocal Christians.

No they don't upset me as a whole group. There are some christians that upset me. There are a few people from assorted religions that upset me. It doesn't have anything to do with their beliefs or mine. It has to do with them. Clumping and sterotyping a bunch of people together based on their private beliefs is petty. Being insecure in your own faith doesn't have to have anything to do with Christianity, there are many other faiths to consider.

Why would they upset me? I hnever see them hear about them I know nothing of them and what they do or stand for and pretty much could care less. Your question is interesting though, seems YOU might be insecure in YOUR own beliefs to be questioning people on such a topic this way.

Nope. Some things some people do upset me. Like when they tell others how they should act, but don't do it themselves. Or treat people like crap simply because they are different. But as far as Christians in general... your group is no different than any other group of people. You have your good ones and bad ones... and the bad ones are always the loudest.

I just wonder why some people can't tell the difference within their own group and stand against those IN their group that are promoting a bad reputation... but instead go after every other groups "bad people".

I try not to let anyone upset me. My beliefs and convictions are generally strong enough to deter even the best debaters from upsetting me. I find nothing more engaging that a debate with the Jehovah Witnesses that come to my door. I have noticed that the same two never come back.

There are only a couple of times that they come close to upsetting me. One is when they say that they'll pray that I'll see the light and find Jesus. I don't pray to my gods that they'll be forcibly converted to my beliefs, I don't appreciate them asking their God to forcibly convert me to theirs.

Of course, my beliefs have a strong ethical component about not screwing with someone else's free will.

The other is when they want to use their religious morals to restrict the actions or freedoms of people who are not of their religion. Outlawing gay marriage "because it's an abomination against God" is a perfect example. Marriage is a legal contract, not a religious one.

So long as they don't try to force their beliefs unto me or trying to cram that bible down my throat, I don't have a problem with them. I feel as if religion is a path to spirituality and I am very secure in my path. I am very tolerant of others religions and myself have studied most religions.

I am open minded it is those that run through life with blinders on that keep running into me.

Your religion is your business. Everyone thinks that their religion is the best and they are right - the best for them, not everyone else.

I understand being so full of the Spirit that you want to share your 'peace' with others, just see if the other person is willing to hear what you have to say- don't force it.

They only upset me when they start making threats, or quoting Babble nonsense about how I'm a fool or a pig.

But, I happily admit I'm not secure in my beliefs. They are just the best I've discovered so far.
